Some time ago, while in Merida (also Mexico), I asked a local for directions to a street market where they sold Achiote (a paste condiment). I was saying "achiote" and he did not understand what I was asking for. He must have thought I was speaking Klingon. Turns out "achiote" for me was "aaaa---chiote" for him. (And in Mayaland it means something totally different) It is all in phonetics. Edited September 4, 20205 yr by RamonB Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
September 4, 20205 yr In proper ATC speak, the number 3 is pronounced "TREE" and the number 9 is pronounced "NINER."

September 5, 20205 yr Author No no, it's not just the number three, it says some entire communications with heavy accents. What I think is happening: the TTS is reading Spanish or Portuguese text but with english pronounciation. Which is both funny and incomprehensible, why is my ATC doing that??
