I am a jelly donut.   (Ich bin ein berliner).  A berliner is a jelly donut.

It happens to everyone.
Some time ago, while in Merida (also Mexico), I asked a local for directions to a street market where they sold Achiote (a paste condiment).  I was saying "achiote" and he did not understand what I was asking for.
He must have thought I was speaking Klingon.

Turns out  "achiote" for me was "aaaa---chiote" for him. (And in Mayaland it means something totally different) It is all in phonetics.

In proper ATC speak, the number 3 is pronounced "TREE" and the number 9 is pronounced "NINER."

Actually being half-Puert Rican it would be closer to Puel-to Lico... “r”s are not rolled, but changed to “l”s...😃

Fly around Cuba and see if they drop the “s” sound at the end of syllables. “Estos” = “Eh-Toh”

I'm Dutch and in some parts of the country we have the rrrolling 'R's. In other parts the 'R's are almost English 'Ah's.

Americans haven't learned how to do the rrrrr roll I guess.

No no, it's not just the number three, it says some entire communications with heavy accents.
What I think is happening: the TTS is reading Spanish or Portuguese text but with english pronounciation. Which is both funny and incomprehensible, why is my ATC doing that??
