Foreflight Connection Apps

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a program that easily connects my AHDRS data from MSFS to Foreflight, similar to the native functionalities available with P3D and XP11. Please comment on what you're using to connect to Foreflight and its advantages and disadvantages. Currently, two programs offer this functionality. The first is "FIT - MSFS BRIDGE - CONNECTOR FOR FOREFLIGHT AND SKYDEMON MSFS." If anyone is using this application, please let me know if it must be executed every time you start MSFS or its integrated? Does it impact framerates? I heard that Simconnect was causing issues with another program called "MICHAEL KULKE - XMAPSY V3 FSX P3D MSFS." However, the Simconnect issues have apparently been resolved with the latest MSFS patch. Can anyone confirm if the patch has resolved problems with the program mentioned above?

Hi,

xmapsy 3.1 is working perfectly for me. No fps-loss since the msfs update.

Another vote for XMapsy. It works very well with MSFS now that the simconnect stutter bug is fixed. It can also be used with P3D in lieu of the default GPS out function, which I always found to have issues with heading fluctuations when sending position to Foreflight. . It will even work with X-Plane, though probably no advantage there as  XP’s default Foreflight support is first-rate.

Get SImRadio (free), works perfectly for connecting ForeFlight to MSFS.

I used it last night to practice a RW flight I did this morning in the DA40.

I use Flight Events. Small app, works flawless!

I chose to use MSFS BRIDGE from SimMarket that I bough for 6 EUR, which works just perfectly fine with both ForeFlights and SkyDemon. I see that Flight Events and XMAPSY were designed for our old good friend FSX. MSFS BRIDGE only works with Flight Simulator 2020 and is optimised for it with the latest SimConnect and Microsoft SDK. My two cents....

I’m also using Flight Events, which is free, so I can’t complain, but I’d like an app that also provides traffic info On the map. Am I right in thinking XMapsy does this?

Eighteen months since this thread was started, I'd just like to check what everyone is using now. Anyone have good recommendations for VR?

I can’t speak to VR, but in terms of apps I’m still happy with XMapsy. Somewhere in the recent past though the speed data for other aircraft no longer gets passed onto ForeFlight from the sim. I haven’t checked to see if there are any updates to XMapsy in my sim flight account though.

I hear some people complain about the freeware alternatives crashing on them, but I’ve never had such an issue with XMapsy.

Edit: I just saw above that when I last posted here I hadn’t yet got XMapsy. I’m clearly a convert now 😄

Foreflight Relay - because it includes Traffic in scope.  When injecting traffic using FSLTL (which pulls from FlightRadar24 real flight data), this traffic shows up on the real time map in Foreflight, matching what you see on the MFD map.  Because I have PFD and MFD hardware (RealSimGear), I don't have the PFD and MFD on my flight display, and it's excellent to have the traffic on the moving map.  I found that various other Foreflight integration tools did not include Traffic in scope.

I use fs2ff.  Shows traffic and it just a tiny little execute file.  Works fine.  https://github.com/astenlund/fs2ff/releases/tag/v0.1.14

It's on the ForeFLight list of approved apps.  https://support.foreflight.com/hc/en-us/articles/204115275-How-do-I-connect-Microsoft-Flight-Simulator-2020-MSFS2020-to-ForeFlight
