Patch did not fix the G1000 RNAV GS

Featured Replies

I brought this up before, but was asked to hold off since the patch notes included G1000 fixes.

So the patch has arrived and the problem(s) persist.

Specifically, the RNAV glidepath right now does not extend vertically beyond the designated intercept point... which is incorrect and makes it impossible to intercept the glidepath "from below" as all pilots are taught..

The only way to fly an RNAV LPV approach in this sim, is to fly at the exact height of the Intercept Point, and be rewarded by a GS indicator which is visible and centered the entire flight.  This is simply not the way it works in the real world.

I have been told that more votes (we are at 21 at present) moves the issue up the list. 🙂

I agree.  On an approach in the Baron today I used the AP to descend to 2500 for an approach into KBMG.  For some reason the Baron slowed descent to a crawl at 2580.  Nothing I could do with VS would get it on down to 2500 so I passed through the intercept point without capture.  I'm on board, Bert!

I voted, and did so in person, not by mail,,, LOL!

I did a flight and constantly looked at the glidepath indicator and at one point is pops to where it should be. Even worst for me is that I fly to smaller type of airports and there simply isn't any RNAV I can't even add them manually in the flight plan since they're not even on the map.

For FS20 at this point in time to not even be able to update the data is bizarre.

Pops to where it should be at the very last waypoint in the approach. Very close to the runway. Better be prepared at or below the WP altitude. Not right.

Yep voted  and seen it as an issue..  can also lead to you failing to shoot an ILS, same reasons..  now I always come in at a couple of hundred feet under what ATC have told me to approach at to ensure I intercept it.

PS  70 votes now 🙂
