Can we not be jerked out of the cockpit when we shut down?

Recommended Posts

Is there a way to stop that? Every time I cut the engine, it yanks me through the top of the cockpit and pulls up the log. Like, great, but I was in the middle of something.

And I imagine that's not going to be amusing when my VR headset arrives...   Be great if we could turn that "feature" off.

Is that a certain plane that this happens on?  I shut down the C152, C172, C208 all the time and have always stayed put.  Never once got yanked.  Interesting!

I had it happen to me in the C152 the other day.

I'm not sure what the conditions are for getting yanked.  I think I pulled into a designated parking spot and then shut down.  Hit battery master and BOOM! I'm through the ceiling.  Hurt my little head.

I don't like it either. Always shocking experience.

It must be what an out of body experience is like.

I also have no idea exactly what triggers it.

That might be on purpose to release a slot on Azure server as quick as possible. Otherwise, WHO would design such thing that way? Who???

If you make a flight plan in any way and then finish at the designated parking spot you selected - when you turn off the engines it pulls you out the seat and asks you if you want to continue or go to the main menu.

Fun Fact: It also doesn't save that flight to your logbook - or it didn't in my case. KLAS-KCLT and it didn't save it because i chose "continue flight" because SLC was still deboarding and I wanted to finish....

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

Explains why I never get credit for any of my flights. I have well over 200 hours at this point and says I am still less than 50 hours. Feel like I'm being cheated.

Ah, jeez, here we go with the whining again. It doesn't "pull" you out of the seat. Once you park yourself in the designated spot - if you've activated taxi instruction it's a big square - and shut off the engines it'll bring up a menu, just click and you're back in your plane.

He's not whining, Ricardo, he's asking how to disable a feature he doesn't like.

Whining would be to criticize without merit or reason. You can reference your own post as an ironic example.

In RaceRoom Racing Experience they had something that for many years was the biggest immersion killer of all time, when you crossed the Start/Finish line at the end of a Race it immediately threw you to a trackside camera...in VR this was a horrid experience! Thankfully they finally patched in the Cool Down lap on a recent update, now it's much more realistic but still begs the question "Why?" they had it in the first place.

MSF isn't as bad as that by any stretch, but cutting to the Log Screen as soon as you shut down should be an Option and should've been an Option from the very first release IMO. Like others i tend to not park where they want me too or i simply leave the engine running, do what i need to do then shut down.

it's annoying, i hope we can disable it, it feels like "press any key to continue"
