September 28, 20205 yr Thought I would make a little notice here on the forums about my up-coming bush trip through South America. It is being held in association with the Bush Pilots discord over here https://discord.gg/MYvtyNR. Greetings ladies and gentlemen! We are very happy to announce the epic South American Bush trip starting 6th October 2020 and estimated to last throughout the winter. All pilots from novice to experienced are welcome! Departing the very south of Panama, our adventure ending at Cape Horn will criss-cross the continent, with some highlights including: • The Iguazu Falls with its stunning 250 waterfalls • The powerful Amazon River • Torres del Paine National Park with its glaciers and mountains • Rio de Janeiro • The ancient and mystical Inka site of Machu Picchu This will be an organized event that takes place every Tuesday at 20.30 CET with legs planned to last approx. 1-2 hours. We propose using smaller GA aircraft that are comfortable flying at 90 KIAS (knots indicated air speed). No signup required. You are free to come fly with LostGoatOnHill and myself on all legs, or just some of them as it suits you. At this stage of planning, we still have some legs that are too big, and they will be broken up in to smaller segments (1-2hrs). We welcome suggestions on how to break up the legs to best highlight the beautiful South American continent. September 28, 20205 yr This is epic! Thanks for sharing. I've been thinking of a world tour... continent by continent and starting in Central America and then moving onto South America. Is it possible to get a higher resolution map or zoomable map?

Thank you for your interest, Chris 🙂 There will be better maps going forward, but this is what we have at the moment. It is basically vectors showing you direction of flight with certain highlights along the way. If you join the discord we plan on publishing the .lnmpln file (plan file for little nav map) so you can follow along there. September 28, 20205 yr Ey Andreas!!. I made a video about Argentina!!. Sadly Iguazu Falls are not modelled , so don't even bother to go there. My Youtube Channel (P3D/FSX/X-Plane Videos and much more!)
September 28, 20205 yr I enjoyed flying in the Panama/Columbia border Pacific coastline from Puerto Pina and also Jaque airport (MPJE) and head down the coast -- it's stunning for its sense of "remoteness", if that is possible in a sim. Haven't even done it in MSFS yet so I'm sure I'm in for a treat. Big mountains right down to the coast in spots. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
October 20, 20205 yr Author I just wanted to post a reminder about this regular scheduled event. We are now a group of about 8 people who join most weeks, and the number is growing. We have left Panama, and spent 2 weeks traversing the north territory of Colombia. This week we are continuing eastward towards Venezuela. We fly with live weather unless that is impossible, and mostly we have been flying the Xcub with the latest mod. However, everyone is free to fly whatever he or she wants. We have real life pilots joining, and the atmosphere is really good! The legs have lasted about 2,5 - 3 hours thus far, and we take a 10 minute break mid-way. When: Every tuesday at 1830z (daylight saving time (1930z wintertime)) Where: South East Asia server (for stability and great multiplayer experience) Voice: MSFS Bushpilot discord https://discord.gg/fKgukRm Please feel free to join whenever you want. The group picks up the leg from where we left off last. The flightpackage for the upcoming flight consists of 1 msfs .pln file and 1 little navmap file + a textual description, and is published in the #event-tour channel every sunday. October 20, 20205 yr Author Well so far the scenery has been absolutely breathtaking. It will be interesting to check out live. And please, try to avoid spoiling it. We want to find out by our selves. Exploration is a big part of this trip. Andreas Stangenes http://www.youtube.com/user/krsans78 Add me on gamertag: Bullhorns78
October 21, 20205 yr Author We had such a great time last night, and it was awesome that we had some newcomers to the group! We ended up being around 14-15 people, and because of the very high terrain we had to fly over on this, most of us chose the caravan. Here is a nice twitch stream (borrowed it from Jaws) from our off-field landing at the tops. This is about 17500 ft msl. Have a look from 20 minutes into the stream where we do a rolling takeoff down the hill as a group 🙂 https://www.twitch.tv/videos/776793718?t=00h20m43s Andreas Stangenes http://www.youtube.com/user/krsans78 Add me on gamertag: Bullhorns78
