Camera shake during taxi, take off roll, landing

Featured Replies

Hey, guys!

Already created such topic in MS forum wish list.

But please, support me in my wish. I believe that a very important thing is missing in the sim such as camera shake in the cockpit. At the moment an airplane just nicely and smoothly runs the taxiways, runways. But in reality there are no perfect surfaces at the airports... Cracks, runway lightings make an airplane shake. Just watch any cockpit video, you will notice how the pilots are jumping in their seats during take off roll or landing.

I think this feature should add a lot of realism and immersion into the sim. I remember when FSX got EZDOK plugin which added the camera shake. That was an awesome feeling!

What do you think?

Who knows, maybe it will be implemented into the sim sometime...

On this vid the video is stabilized, but on landing you can see how the dashboard and the pilot is shaking on the seat. This effect is missing for sure...

Huh?  I thought there was a toggle for this already in settings.  My head seems to move about in the sim, and move backwards and forwards with acceleration and deceleration.

Then again I spilled my beer last night, so maybe it's just me getting too involved!..  🤣

Are you saying it needs to be more pronounced?  If so, I bet a third-party developer will be along shortly... 👍

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

When a plane touches the runway there is some kind of a shake, but while the plane is rolling on the runway it just going smoothly...  Later will try to get some video fragments from you tube to show what I am talking about

Nope, is OK.  Don't go to the trouble - I do know what you mean. 👍

The effect maybe needs to be a bit more 'beefed-up'.  Thinking about it, I would say so too.

These third party programs have a severity slider from gentle movement to severely violent 😄, so people can pick their own level of shake.

PS. Voted!

Yes, that would be prefect indeed when people chose the level of shaking by adjusting sliders or so...  But this feature must be present in the sim!

Ah! I see.  I agree, but unfortunately I can't see it being a priority for Asobo yet as there are too many basic issues to solve, and they may want to leave some payware opportunities for their 'partners'.  At least we have asked though.  My bet is that EZDOK or the Chaseplane developers are already eyeing this as an opportunity before MS / Asobo can get around to it.

We need EZDOK

🙂

Where are the EZDOK developers? Hello!

Wow! That is exactly what I was meaning about!  Great!  That thing is really missing in MFS ...

We waited 4 years for EZDOK to be released for FSX.  I think it was released in 2010.  That was a real game change enhancement.

Plenty of potential suitors to fill this gap.  XPRealistic, EZDOK and Chaseplane - I think it's all SDK dependant.  There is such a huge market for this sim relative to previous iterations, that whoever brings it to market first will make some good coin.

Let's hope that more creative developers would join the MFS community.

But Asobo could make this shaking effect... I don't think that it is difficult.

If at all, they might do a basic version of it, eventually  The current camera utilities for P3D/XP have quite a number of scalable parameters and I just don't think it's a priority for Asobo at this stage. This is more of a feature enhancement, whereas the more immediate priority is a functional baseline.

Brilliant idea yes I remember EZDOCK well 🙏

I really hope we wont have to start falling back on 3PD's for these kinds of fundamentals. Asobo have already gone to the trouble of modelling the variable exposure of the eye, I don't think it's too much to ask to have a better head shake effect as standard.
