Windows Update turned USB suspend back on :(

Featured Replies

I had disabled it a month ago, but the monthly Win 10 update turned USB selective suspend back on :(.

No wonder controllers inactivated once in a while.

Control Panel, Power Options, Change when the Computer Sleeps, Change Advanced Power Settings, USB Settings, USB Selective Suspend Settings: Enabled or Disabled.

Whilst I have long been well aware that this happens, I have to say that your post was extraordinarily informative, and I commend you for it.

Well done you

You will only need to do it if you have USB peripherals that tend to "go to sleep" when they are not meant to.  Saitek devices are notorious for it.

I don't know if mine was always enabled or not, but I have found my Playstation DS4 gamepad was disconnecting occasionally, usually before a flight but sometimes during, requiring me to unplug and reconnect it again, so maybe this was the reason. I've disabled it now anyway. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
