October 23, 20205 yr I take off from an airport and while enroute I have this icon on my screen showing me the distance and direction from my departure aircraft. How do you rid your screen of this icon? I have looked at navigation in the assist menus and pretty sure I have things turned off that need to be. Thanks in advance. Duane Duane Buck
October 23, 20205 yr I think you can hide from the airport navigation icon if you duck behind a mountain or just try to be really still and hope it doesn´t see you. But I myself like to know how far away I am from my departure aircraft - especially when I want to switch to it from my arrival aircraft. Often I just take the enroute aircraft, though. Hope this helps! 😁
October 23, 20205 yr I've turned off all the navigation aids (except taxi and fauna) and sometimes the sim still shows me the marker for the airport I took off from. Weird. Weird. I think the taxi aid is the one that does it. When you taxi to the runway, stop and make sure the ribbon changes to the run on to the runway. After getting clearance to take off, make sure you pull forward along that taxi ribbon until it disappears before taking off. James

Weird. Also, once airborne, you can change freq's and your departure marker will disappear also. Just and FYI... October 23, 20205 yr Moderator As @phantom said - it's related to the taxi ribbon. You have to get to the trigger point to turn it off, like getting to the hold position in FSX to trigger ground. If you just run through the runway hold and takeoff it will follow you! 🙂 RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
