Sorry chaps. I initially had access to the entire article. Its now not available.

It was about how Exxon was a superpower in every sense of the word and had access to foreign leaders that rivalled top international diplomats, and with geopolitical savvy that bested most intelligence agencies.

In the last debate, the bit where he told me I didnt mind paying extra taxes for climate change because I live in a notorious tax haven, made me chuckle. 😆

I was curious why you would move to the Channel Islands, as the cost of living there must be quite high, but you claim you are just living there with your daughter.  I thought perhaps it was to avoid the higher taxation in the UK.

I also wanted to point out the fact that the Channel Islands are home to a lot of extremely wealthy hypocrites who move there in order to evade taxes. While they're not paying their fair share of taxes, they are busy zipping around the world on private jets and lecturing the great unwashed middle class that we must reduce our resource consumption and stop driving cars.

The fact remains that if naive folks like you get their way, i.e. trillions in new taxes and spending on a utopian green new deal, then it will be the middle class who suffer the consequences.  The wealthy will continue to prosper and avoid paying their fair share of taxes, while living in 20,000 sq ft mansions and traveling in private jets to vacation spots for the rich and famous.

I've no doubt that your intentions are good, but the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

Remember, kids, you have choices in life.  You can choose to engage with denialists whose posting history makes it clear that they make a hobby out of taking contrarian positions and with whom you're never going to agree.  Or you can accept the nearly universal scientific consensus that is no longer controversial outside of folks who are politically motivated to make it so.

You'll probably be branded a "sheep" or something for chosing the latter, but at least you'll demonstrate sound judgement and not waste your time screaming at a wall.

If you think that posting a link to my posting history is supposed to intimidate me then you're sadly mistaken.  I'm proud of it and stand by what I've written.  I'm even able to admit when I'm wrong.

The days of folks of your persuasion intimidating people like me are over.  We vigorously defend ourselves and go on the offense when necessary, which you're not used to, and that frustrates and frightens you.

Hear we go again.

Cold in New Mexico is local short term weather. Not long term average global tempreture.

However... as others have told you, a good way to consider global warming is in terms of global energy increase. That global energy increase doesn't just vanish, it has an impact and that impact can be in terms of atmospheric disruption, sometimes referred to as global weirding.

Its also possible that your chilly short term local weather is a natural random fluctuation. Natural, local, short term cold snaps don't stop because the average tempreture of the entire globe, long term, is increasing.

You really don't get it do you?

First off, it's not just New Mexico.  Look at the temperature map; the extremely low temps are prevalent in a large part of the lower half of the country.  No, it is not a worldwide phenomenon.

Every time we have extremely hot weather somewhere, the television and news media bombard us with stories about it and how it is due to climate change.  However, if someone points out unusually cold weather then that is not deemed newsworthy and is quickly blamed on climate change.

You can't have things both ways if you want to be taken seriously.

People, You live on a rock hurtling through the vacumn of space at 60,000 MPH and spinning at approx 1024 MPH!  Maybe a llil wind and climate change is normal.

Your last sentence tells you I do get it. 😆

Precisely. Glad YOU now get it. Cold tempretures are short term weather in just lower half of one country. So not long term, so not global, so not an average trend.

We are making progress with you. 😆

Yep, there you go... wrong AGAIN!

"Fools like you"

Already the insults have started. And quite ironic given your comments in your last denialist rant and now this one. Still you don't know the diference between local and global, short term weather and long term average trends. You actually think that if its chilly in parts of US for a few days, long term GLOBAL warming isn't happening. 😆

And you say its me thats a fool. The ultimate irony.

I think we can all agree that the planet changes and evolves with and without human interaction. Let’s leave it at that rather than start an endless argument.
