November 3, 20205 yr Today's Xbox app update makes MSFS crash when starting up. Impossible to use it. I went ahead and updated it just to check if that was the problem some guys were reporting on the official forums and now my MSFS doesn't start. Folks are reporting the problem to the Zendesk but I don't know how long until they fix it, so don't update the app yet. You've been warned. November 3, 20205 yr Just saw that in the official forums - turn off the windows defender real time protection, yes, works for me. Intel Core i7-11700F, mainboard MSI MPG B560I GAMING EDGE WIFI (MS-7D19), 32 GB DDR4 SDRAM, RTX3070, no OC for CPU, RAM or GPU, XMP off. MS Store version, default installation path on a 1 TB NVMe 4x 8 GT/s
November 3, 20205 yr Author Hmm, it loaded ok now. Dunno if they fixed the problem already on their side or what is going on. Only thing I did was restart the PC. November 3, 20205 yr I've never had start-up problems until today. My sim is "dead" at the moment, and I followed the FAQ guide to resolve it, but it didn't. Perhaps tomorrow. Curt Branch
November 4, 20205 yr Commercial Member For me it was a Windows Defender definition update that was the problem. I was this close to doing a format and reinstall of Windows thinking my PC had gone to pot... B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
November 4, 20205 yr here is the whole scenario, follow the steps outlined by forum moderator Angernerve before buying a new pc or reformatting drive C:\ even that wouldn't help. instead this solved the crash problem: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/simulator-doesnt-start-anymore-at-all/314155/134 Edited November 4, 20205 yr by turbomax AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler. 60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking. very nice.
