Flying on an ancient Titan Maxwell...about as robust as a 1070...she's doing OK...but new GPU (and whole system) is in my future....can't wait to see the improvements! 🙂

Your morning flights are all wonderful, Steve.....and, MSFS is especially ideal for such....!

Loved the close-up shots of the Cessna....!!

[BTW, Steve, I'm a bit behind...has the MSFS repainting got you stumped still...considering your wizardry with repaints work...🙂....]

Maybe you've already done one in MSFS, that I don't know about... (coincidentally I was recently looking at a few of your (iFly) 747 BCF repaints...that Cathay Pacific Cargo (Metal) was a masterpiece...🙂...)

It is...anytime I just have a little time in the morning to take a short flight...I'm in the sim.  Like this morning...mountains of Nicaragua all around me.  No real destination...just flying from MHTG and heading to the coast.

Still not into it just yet....learning blender® and Substance Painter© as I acclimate to painting in 3d

Just changing color of a few planes by altering the paint chips in the texture folder...that's about it....nothing officially released yet.

I'm glad I don't have to paint metal on to models anymore...adjusting the base color and playing with the red channel on the metal map gives you real, reflective and shiny aluminum since PBR hit the scene. 🙂   I did like that "paint" though ...Cathay is one of my favorite liveries.

This was the teaser pic of her I did just before iFly released it....

Steve:

During the course of my last several posts, I had looked up Metal repaints (Real and Fictional) for several planes (717/727/737/747/767) and several airlines,....the Metals are interesting, and, of course, have interesting pros and cons (aesthetics, maintenance, weight, fuel-efficiency...etc.)...

And, I was fortuitously also led to the same Cathay Pacific Teaser as above, and then looked up your other -400 BCFs. I'd seen them, once, before, long back...(You folks rightly did the -400 BCF only for P3D...🙂..., so I never got to own them...though I do own (and like) the FSX/iFly 744...)...

Anyway, have fun flying in MSFS...(probably you're doing more of it now than you could, in the past, during active painting career...🙂...)...

Beautiful shots.

Yeah sadly the BCF was only released for P3D.  The guys at iFly had some internal discussions about rolling it back to FSX....but as you can imagine (by the outcome)...it was deemed not economically viable. 😞   Its a great model and I enjoyed painting all those BCFs (It was a project that started out with iFly approaching a small group of painters to help with some paints to showcase the upcoming release.  I think they originally asked for 6 or so...but between Brian T, Maxime, we knocked out a ton. 🙂

Here is another metal freighter....I like this one too...very simplistic, eloquent design IMO

These were the only four I managed to paint for FSX....

Man I've painted a lot of planes. 🤪
