Quality-wings 787 true glass/real light

Recommended Posts

Hey guys , anyone have an idea of when this will be corrected for the qw 787?

as the landing lights and taxi lights look horrific illuminating the taxiway/ runway

also the taxi light heading to the terminal lighting up the whole terminal. Who needs dynamic lighting enabled!!! Gees.

how much longer do we have to wait?Getting rather fed about it.

And of course no answer from qw forums.

As I understand it, the two enhancements were designed for DX11 and P3Dv4, and still aren't playing nice with P3Dv5 and/or DX12.

QW paid TFDi for the rights to use them and incorporated them into their P3Dv4 product, which works fine.  This is more an issue between TFDi, who makes the Trueglass/Real Light enhancement dlls, and Lockheed Martin.  QW can either wait for one or both of them to produce a fix, or QW can remove it from their P3Dv5 product altogether.

Real Light does cockpit lighting...I don't think your exterior taxi light issue is related.

I checked out the latest version of the QW 787 in P3Dv4.5HF2 yesterday, and the landing/taxi lights are way too bright in this simulator. A workaround for the landing lights is to only use the centre ones. That creates a more natural illumination on the runway.

This issue is rather strange, because I do not remember the landing and taxi light illumination being a problem a month ago...

If I recall correctlY in 4.5 it was better.

bright... yes. Because they are LED.

thou if you see my picture above. You can clearly see the outline where it stops with a line. It does not fade.

ive mentioned this also a couple of times on their forum.

but no response as usual.

i will never purchase from the again.

it’s a shame as I do like the aircraft. But their customer care  is horrific.

Mike,

In the qw787.cfg Just add these two entries and the your situation should be a little better.

Daytime_lightsplashes=0
Dynamic_lighting=0

Thank you.

will try it out. But we as customers should not be modifying anything ourselves.

it should be corrected by the developer.

thanks

I can't imagine this hobby without user modification.  Has been the way for a VERY long time.  Though I get your frustration

Completely agree.

The way I look at it is the following:

If the suggested change works its quite straightforward to manage this. Make a backup copy of qw.cfg.

Make the 2 changes to the active file and hopefully "Bob's your uncle".

If not revert back to original .cfg file and wait patiently for TFDI to fix it.

The proverbial caveat in all of this is - you'll need to remember that if you ever re-install the B787, you'll need to implement those changes again. OK that's where its not elegant for end users.

Then that's a great deal Mike. Blue skies with good wind.

Prefer wind shear, gusty crosswinds and overcast.😜
