NVidia control panel changes = +10 fps

I tried the NVIDIA sharpening in one of my games and found the default values were over the top.  I had to tone it down considerably and then it provided a nice touch of sharpness without too much edge artifacting or noise.  I can't recall the exact sharpness setting I used, but it was much less than the default and it only cost 1-2fps.

But with a game like MSFS I would be reluctant to apply sharpening here, although I suppose I should try it.  I'm thinking that when flying, atmospheric haze is a big factor in perceived sharpness of objects on the ground and that any added sharpening is going to look unnatural.

I always use the Nvidia sharpening .50 ..but might tone it down to .33 as suggested . My 4k monitor and and GTX 2080 card gives me sharp and clear resolution without any problems except perhaps a little graininess with Clouds set to High (Noise I suppose)..as for Atmospheric haze , it is possible this is slightly too sharp, but like I say, I can tweak that back to 0.33 in the NVidia control panel -- I will try tomorrow ....

Keep it safe out there folks..

Oh god, not the awful Geforce Experience..:/

I tried his settings in P3D v4.5.  I was able to up my AA to 8xSSAA while getting 20-30 FPS running NGXu, and that's what ActiveSky with weather.  I wasn't able to get higher frame rates, but I as able to bump up to 8xSSAA and not suffer any losses.  That's a huge plus!

Just finished a NAT crossing and no issues or CTDs.

Everything just looks better an runs smoother in the simulator.

Where has this guy been???  I think this one needs to get pinned someplace.  There were no fancy tweaks, just changes inside the Nvidia Control Panel that even I understood.

Every time new drivers come out this thing resets the game video settings. Any way to prevent this?

SAR Pilot. Flight Sim'ing since the beginning.

Ok. FPS discrepancy with the latest drivers confirmed for me.

After 4 clean installs going back and forth between drivers, I see a sea of red using the in-game fps monitor, and lots of warnings about being limited by the main thread.

Dropping back to the previous drivers gives me all green, with flickering's of red, and much better FPS.

Again, your individual mileage may vary.

Have ya been bitten by my buggggz ????

Were those full MFS installs ?

And, if they were, did you make any use of backing up the Content folder ( the bigger one ) between installs ?

Apologies for any misunderstanding. I didn't reinstall the entire sim, only the Nvidia drivers.
