Locally, there seem to be plenty in the 750W range and lower, but just a handful of 850W units and almost nothing at 1000W+

EVGA.com has some in stock, but there are limits of 1-2 per household on pretty much all of them.

So it does look to me like there is a supply chain disruption.

Yep, thats what I'm seeing. 750 and below no issue. 850, 1000 and above nowhere to be seen.

With the minimum spec for the RTX 3080/3090 claimed to be 750 watt by Nvidia, and a pretty hefty 10900K, I was planning to go for 1000 watt. Overkill I'm sure, but I would like to exceed the minimum recommended by Nvidia.

I measured 550W under load at the wall outlet with the 10900K and my 2080Ti, so I'd guess it's probably more like 600-625W peak load now with the 3090 cranking away.  My water pump and radiator fans are powered by a separate 12v power supply, so add another 25W for CPU cooling.  So 750W would be cutting it pretty close.

I'm hearing this is all related to shipping costs due to our friend the corona virus. Have found some 1000 watt units on Amazon UK but crazy high prices.

Nothing at EVGA eu. All auto notify.

I've got a new EVGA 1600 T2 I picked up for $160 as a package deal with my 2080Ti a few years ago.

Its my spare for the primary flight sim box, plus a used non-modular PC Power and Cooling 910W unit for the others just in case.

Always keep a spare...

Ha, I actually ordered one. The same PSU. But then came to the conclusion 1600 watts was bonkers, so rang them and cancelled the order. 😆

Then I found an EVGA 1000 watt from another supplier.

Yeah i dont blame you, I got the evga 3090 and with the power limit at max (stock bios) it tripped OCP on my 750watt unit and shut down the pc.

It's been like this for months.  For that reason I ended getting this 850W PSU for my new build since it was readily and reasonably available.  Looking forward to seeing how it'll fare with my "eventual" 3080 series card. Glad I didn't go for anything less powerful, but wonder if I should have gone for 1000W...at the time it seemed like overkill for my needs.

Is that a single rail or multi-rail unit though? If multi-rail, the OCP is set low on each 12V rail. If so, may have just been a load balancing issue.
