November 27, 20205 yr Hi , I noticed my sky looks rather cartonish using latest build. Couldnt find anything in their forum but its a step down for me. Any one else having this ? Also again Vpilot is killing my FPS (it uses up to 10% CPU on my system even having allocated only one CPU core. Might try an uninstall Thanks Michael Moe Michael Moe
November 27, 20205 yr I too have this issue. I feel it is a problem related to EA, so nothing to do with AS as it happens without AS running too. (correct me if I am wrong) It seems to me that LM decided to 'fix' the previous issue where any objects/terrain etc in front of clouds would become pixelated, by reversing this instead - so instead of it affecting the objects it now affects the clouds themselves if that makes sense. To me, the way truesky is injected into P3D doesn't seem compatiable at all - either way resulting in both issues as mentioned. November 28, 20205 yr HiFi have RC4 coming shortly. Uncheck the volumetricloud.cfg setting in their UI and give it a go when released. Eric
November 28, 20205 yr In the volumetricclouds.cfg there are settings for each cloud type and global once. Try at l cumulus and cumulonimbus the section persistance=0.63 instead of 0.95 Then increase at the global section edge noise wavelength to 2.7 instead of 2.5. this should lengthen the edges more and looks less edged by increasing this value. The persistance is responsible for the small noisy parts around the cloud scapes witch also look to pixelated in my opinion. Reducing the value makes less of those persistance parts so less pixelated also. This has no performance impact. Also increasing the cloud resolution at the global section is possible but does come with performance impact and still has to many pixels even at ultra. I use high and with these changes it is better so far I think. LM should do something about this. Don't forget to go in ASP3D app and check the box....disable ASP3D vol.cloud.handling (something like that) so that means now your settings can be used. Otherwise ASP3D will use it owns which are also pixelated. Marcus Edited November 28, 20205 yr by mpo910 Regards, Marcus P.
