April 1, 20224 yr I haven't done it personally, but you can also do something similar to this using the PSX 747 simulator, which can utilize MSFS for visuals, and run all on the same PC in a minimum config Philip Torne wrote the utility that links to the two sims and he regularly streams this config - https://www.twitch.tv/philippe_torne I *think* he gives the utility away for free now Having checked in on his streams a few times, he does sometimes get weird mismatches where he "lands" about 500 feet above the runway, so there is a sort of "disconnect" that's always put me off spending the considerable money on the PSX sim, but the PSX 747 rendition knocks even the PMDG 747 into a cocked hat for realism
October 31, 20223 yr I realise this topic is a couple of years old but this seems to be the right place to ask my question. I have a license for WidevieW because I was using it to connect P3D to FS2020 some time ago . Can WidevieW work if I run both the sims on the one PC? Edited October 31, 20223 yr by djw4250 Corrected spelling error
November 25, 20223 yr Great idea. Is this also possible with only 3 computers, i.e. 1 computer as a server with P3D and MSFS2020 as a scenery generator? The two other computers as pure scenery generators?
July 3, 20232 yr Before I test WidevieW or purchase, I would like a simple answer. On the client. Using MSFS General Options / Experimental / Add Window to add center, left, right cockpit views. The zoom is set to view just in front of the cockpit. Will WidevieW drive this setup to run the client on the 3 monitors? The 4th monitor is the main MSFS window and the desktop. The PC and graphics card displays 60 fps in this configuration. Your Q&A for WidevieW 2021 discusses setting up the Camera.cfg, changing the Camera 0 definition. Not any other way to configure the client that I have found. Should one use the MSFS windows option or cameras for multimonitor views. Please provide steps to configure multiple monitors on a client or provide specific directions to documentation. It is not obvious in the Q&A or the User's Guide. Thanks Edited July 3, 20232 yr by dhsimmonsfsx

What worries me is the software hasn't been updated for a long time (1.06 seems to be from mid 2021) and a lot has changed in MSFS since then...including, as you say, the experimental views. There doesn't seem to be a great deal of support for Wideview online in the places I've looked which makes it hard to commit to the purchase with so many un answered questions. July 8, 20232 yr So I setup my two rigs and downloaded and setup wideview. Server is my 7950X3D, 4090 64GB 6000MHZ RAM. Client is 7900X3D, 4070Ti 32GB 6000MHZ CL30. I get very stutters performance on the client and think it has to do with the number of cycles per second both copies of WIDEVIEW are getting. The manual says it should be over 250 but I can't for the life of me see it getting above 20-40. Tried with "external booster", changing other settings as described in the manual but no difference. Any ideas anyone? Don't want to buy it with performance like this... Kael Oswald 9950X3D/ 64GB DDR5 6200 @ CL30 / Custom Water Loop / RTX 5090 / 3 x 48" LG C4 OLEDs
July 9, 20232 yr Just adding to my own reply because I can't edit it above - Below is what I'm seeing in my config screen. In this instance Windows actually has the priority listed as "REALTIME" and still I'm only getting 12 and 15 cycles per second instead of the minimum 250. Changing the Priority or update rate hasn't made any difference. Any ideas anybody? Kael Oswald 9950X3D/ 64GB DDR5 6200 @ CL30 / Custom Water Loop / RTX 5090 / 3 x 48" LG C4 OLEDs
July 9, 20232 yr Tomorrow I will post my settings for both server and client so you will have a starting point. In this case the above IP address points to the dedicated Ethernet connection linking them both. WiFi is left for internet etc. The Ethernet connection is working well...turning WiFi off to validate I'm getting transfer rates of up to 180 megabytes per second between both computers. July 10, 20232 yr Thanks @GSalden - What sort of "cycles per second' are you getting when running? My understanding is that is how often Wideserver itself is updated with data from the sim and as such, because mine is very low the data that is not being updated as frequently as it should - hence the stutters. Still, perhaps with MSFS its different or not as important. Looking at your videos on YouTube it looks very smooth so I'm hoping I can get to that stage as well. July 10, 20232 yr Mine are between 9 and 50. I configure the settings when looking how the client “moves”…. What is important : your server needs to get at least 35 FPS in your most heavy environment. Than you can use VSync to cap the FPS to 30. Or at least 65 FPS where you use Vsync to cap your FPS to 60.
