Space X Starship Flies TODAY!

Yeah, the Space X feed showed Raptor abort with the countdown clock stopped at T minus 1.3 seconds.

Elon - you are such a tease! I wonder if he deliberately "staged" (rocketry pun intended) the abort because he'd missed a 4:20 liftoff time (local) :biggrin:

I suspect he's been watching Galaxy Quest to stop the countdown at that late stage. 🤣

The pilot of that NASA Canberra, Tony Casey, is tweeting. Flight plan filed for takeoff in 16 minutes. He was about ready to take off earlier when it was changed. That airplane holds record for being in mothballs. So I figure hour fifteen mission to get set up... so could be 3:30 to 4.

Official SpaceX feed now up with countdown. AFAIK SpaceX didn’t swap out a Raptor or anything. They have their trouble sensors set to be very sensitive. So probably minor issue or just a glitch.

It was me and Ginger in my L1011. Sorry. The sure vented a lot of fuel! SN8 was rarin’ to go. They’ll restart. Plenty of time. 4:40 pm new time.

They are saying on Twitter that a single engine prop departing Brownsville got too close. Next attempt 4:40 CST. 22:40 UTC.

Well it is still before my bed time. And have just set up new TV. Samsung Q90T.

Just watched Mandalorian season two episode one... awesome in 4K. Let's hope I finish off the evening with a succesful SN8 test.

All you got to do is watch the interview with Joe Rogan where Musk smokes some weed , and just watch how weird he acts, even before smoking.

Canberra is one of three still flying. This NASA crew member tweeted this picture of them in front of the airplane. I feel sorry for them. 14 minutes to launch.

RIP SN8. Good job!

Well then, that was a nice explosion.

But the control of the belly flop looked good. Even if the flip was too late.

To me that was a success.
