January 14, 20215 yr I'm more tempted by this than most of the aircraft released so far, simply because it is significantly different from all the default planes. That's not to say none of the others handle differently than the defaults, but they simply look too similar to be of major interest to me. Do give us your initial impressions... we are WEAK creatures 🙂 C OK... No matter how I load airplane my CG is always forward of CG range. I'm not sure if its a bug or Carenado or shortcomings of MSFS. It stallbelievablee. Turns require step on the ball. Engine choke if you fly inverted. Easily ground loops when raising tail to quickly. Cool BTW as far as I know the S2020 flight model does not support more than one set of wings it has to be fudged. But FSX and P3D have that issue as well. January 15, 20215 yr OK, I don't know how real WACO flown but it ain't Citabria I tell you that! The only way I can get smooth take off is by locking tail wheel (via MSFS assignment key). Keep my stick aft until around 50-55%. small ease up on a stick to neutral and then slightly up. That seem gives the most stable take off Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F). January 15, 20215 yr I suspect it is the same MSFS FM issue that Iris are struggling with that causes the Jabiru to nose over under heavy brakes and stall a bit oddly. Hopefully a better SDK will eventually overcome these issues. 22 minutes ago, sd_flyer said: By the way where does 2nd pax seat? LOL Edited January 15, 20215 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick
January 15, 20215 yr I bought it too.The sound alone is awesome. The takeoff was insane at full power... I have only done one so far. Landing was ok. Good luck flying this without head tracking or VR. A few bugs, other than the wonky take off... Oil Temp doesn't seem to do anything at all. EGT and CHT do not work either. And as mentioned, documentation is lacking... fuel flow seems off...too low...i saw around 11gph in a pretty quick cruise. I will know more with a bit more time in her. If so it seems like this Carenado is hybrid of vintage in the 3D modelling and modern in the FM ? Bit odd regardless.
January 15, 20215 yr OK so loaded 500+ lbs aft juts to have CG seen agree with norm. In that config I was able to get into incident spin. Low tail take off technique prove to be very stable. Now I wonder if all take off complication is due CG too forward. Wake definitely missing some weight on tail wheel so keeping stick aft compensate for it Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F).
