December 16, 20205 yr I had PREPAR3D at one time, deleted everything. I downloaded with my id and password. When I opened it up I got a pop-up that read; PREPAR3D cannot open without a valid Scenery cfg. I push the ' Abort ' button then it closes.
December 16, 20205 yr Did you install the full package (client, scenery, content)? Or just the client? Bert
December 16, 20205 yr Author I'm showing thirteen entries. The first is cont.cab, the last is Setup_Prepar3d.exe I have it on the D:Drive. Edited December 16, 20205 yr by jetsmell

It should open a small window asking you to 'extract all files'. This will take a while and eventually get you to the stage where you can start installation. Have you done this? John B
December 17, 20205 yr Biggles is correct. You don't just download it, you have to install it. Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz (8 cores) Hyper on, Evga RTX 3060 12 Gig, 32 GB ram, Windows 11, P3D v6, and MSFS 2020 and a couple of SSD's
December 18, 20205 yr Author Still isn't working, same pop-up to abort. I disabled my firewall and defender. Using win zip I downloaded and installed on the D Drive. The pop-up is still saying I need a valid Scenery cfg.
December 18, 20205 yr Author I know it was installed, there are many, many files open in my 😧 Drive. I also included my ID and Password to activate.
December 18, 20205 yr It's probable that the scenery.cfg file is there but it's corrupted. Go to %PROGRAMDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 (or v5) and delete the file. It will be rebuilt when you restart P3D. December 18, 20205 yr In the main Prepar3D folder is a shortcut file named "Delete Generated files" run that as admin and 4 generated files will be deleted. Then start Prepar3D,exe again. (they will all be regenerated again) If that does not work - uninstall "Scenery" module in "Apps and Features" and then reinstall "Scenery" module.
