The Citation Longitude Is Now A Very Stable Genius

Featured Replies

Did a short flight from EDAH Heringsdorf, Germany, to EETN Tallin, Estonia.

Encountered no issues. Rock stable throughout all phases of flight. Had plenty of gas left in the tank upon arriving.

Flew an ILS approach (I did cheat a bit and flew a direct to to avoid ap issues, buh huh, sue me now), and the plane flew the glide slope smoothly like a stripper on a greasy pole.

Vapp and Vref were by the numbers. Unusually AoA has been fixed. My landings could be improved, though, a bit bouncy and floaty.

Here are three pics (as always, pics straight out of the sim, no artificial colors or flavors).

The second one with the "landing lights mod"

Is this with the working title g3000 mod? or default?

No, Yes, I've installed all the relevant mods: 1) G3X mod 2) the Longitude mod, and 3) the lights mod.

Hmm so you don't recommend the working title g3000 mod for the longitude?

I meant, yes, I've all the relevant mods, including the Working Title G3X mod.

One thing that I also never noticed (no idea, why) is that the system automatically switches from FMS mode to Nav1 mode, once you've dialed in the correct frequency and you're in range. Nice reduction of work load.

Agree! Its beside the TBM my favorite plane to fly at the moment. Did a 5 hour trip EDDW-GCLP and 4,5 hours EDDW-LLBG yesterday without any issues.

The only complaint i have about it is the IAS/MACH twist.

Otherwise a great plane!

Very Stable Genius lol. You know that's not a compliment, right? 🤣

Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

I've been wanting to fly the longitude but been holding off because I was worried that it wasn't that stable to fly yet.

How does the longitude compare to the tbm and cj4 in terms of stability, features and performance?

Does it support VNAV yet? I am waiting for all the features of the working title cj4 mod to make its way over to the g1000/g3000 mod as well.

You must activate approach for ils or rnav to work. To do it right BEFORE you get to your first approach fix make sure you have already activated approach on the FMS. You can change to heading mode and fly heading to your first approach fix and when you not quite there activate APP on the Autopilot

If you do not do that and activate approach AFTER you have already reach your first approach fix the plane will turn around and go back to the first fix.

The FMS always wants to be able to fly the complete approach when it is activated

This was my favorite from the start.  I’m glad someone finally figured out how to mod it.  For those with float issues on landing get the plane slowed to the bottom of the white speed tape right over the runway and cut the throttle.  Basically how you should be flaring anyway what’s changed is the speed tape is accurate now at the bottom end.  I like the fuel range circle more as it gives me a good marker for fuel planning.  I add a little more fuel when flying east to west because of the winds and it works great every time.  Now if only Asobo gave us a cabin and a working HUD.  Those new cabin view presets in the CJ4 would be amazing in the Longitude if it had a cabin.
