Ok, so please tell me what aircraft I should buy. I mean one without any bugs.

The latest PMDG development is the 737NGXu and it is compatible with v5. The 747 is compatible too, but a slightly earlier development. The 777 is yet not officially for v5.  That leaves a clear priority, the 737 NGXu, then the 747 but not the 777.

I don't know how many bugs there are, but you will certainly never find a product withoug any bugs. Look at the real world 737Max.

OS=WIN11 Home, Sim=P3D5 5.3 (P3D4 and FSX for install reasons)
Addons=ORBX, ASCA, AS, TOGA and tons of sceneries, aircraft

MB=Gigabyte AORUS Z790 Elite AX, CPU=i13900K, Cooling=Be quiet! Pure Loop II FX
GPU=KFA2 RTX3090 24 GB, RAM=64 GB DDR5-5600, HOTAS=Logitech G Saitek X52 Pro

For $100-200 we are getting one h@ll of deal. Things are not always perfect in level c/d sims either.

As little as you obviously know.

If your answer is being condescending by telling me I don't see the bugs because I don't know enough I will ask you to give some precise examples please of what's broken instead of just saying things don't work without revealing what that actually means and playing the 'I'm a pilot' card.

The point is that PMDG along with a few others have continuously pushed the boundaries of what's possible in aircraft simulation for desktop sims for over a decade and I think it's safe to say that we wouldn't be where we are today if it weren't for them and some other developers. If we are going to call this level of simulation buggy and get disappointed we should probably just pack it in and buy ourselves a LD-sim, though these machines are also off in several aspects compared to the real thing so we'd probably be disappointed by that as well. Keep in mind we are still talking about consumer desktop flight simulation while the level of simulation and realism of aircraft developed by the likes of PMDG, FSL, Majestic, etc. is far exceeding what one would even expect. We are at a point at which is takes a type rated pilot to spot some details being off and if that is considered full of bugs I think it's time to re-evaluate what that actually means and come back down to earth.

Typo.

So, "treegreen", I'll come back down to earth being a current type-rated pilot in actually two of their airplanes and I reinforce the statement that there are many bugs.
Bugs that can easily be fixed instead of being carried over constantly to each patch or "new" product and blaming everybody else but them.
From so many "details" that are off and is upsetting to you to be called bugs, that you are not aware of (or just don't want to admit that they exist) even there are many complaints about it in their forum I don't find any reason to go and start a ground school and then to point out what's wrong, many of the problems are listed within the forum, or just compare the manuals with actually what is happening with aircraft systems.
I am not condescending at all when I say that you don't know enough about these airplanes especially when you don't see certain bugs.
I do sincerely hope that you are not a real pilot current and qualified in any of their product and not seeing the problems they have.
As it would be for me total nonsense to make statements about an airplane that I'm not qualified in.
It's absolutely nothing wrong with not to know certain stuff, nobody knows it all, what is wrong is to try to dismiss the truth.
Regarding just packing and buy a level D sim, I have access to it twice a year, and yes, I agree that they don't fly like the actual airplane (maybe 80%) and yes, we all wished to be closer to reality but systems functionality it is another story.

I concur with 'killthespam" and a few others responses. I am not a member of any PMDG Cheer Squad and yes I know what I am doing in real life and with simulators. I have over 20,000 hours in multi-engine aircraft, I was a military QFI and C&T Captain and Testing Officer. I have more piston engine time than I care to want (and the damaged ears to go with it). As for simulators I have been onto and involved with computer since the early 1980s. I have formal training in more than a few languages and have run every version of MS Simulator since the took over SubLogic. Why? because I have always used simulators to train, as a training aid and a neat way to have fun on the side.

The issues I raised was simple - I am aware of the issues of moving one model to another sim etc etc. I had no issues with this one in FSX and still have it. However when I read on their own forums and on the website that all I have to do is point the installer at the P3D folder and hey presto I assume that is what will happen, not to have it repeatedly abort. But the crux of the issue is more than that it is about Customer Service - their website is diabolical with no intuitive logic or accessability, the submit a ticket but you have to register is symptomatic of the problems. IF that is the case they probably do think they are doing just fine because no body complains (well they can't can they!) It is this which is the final test for me, not what the owner does or can do or how much money they have or don't have, that is irrelevant. If they were honest and responsive I could understand and accept that - I am no spit the dummy cry baby when it comes to either computers or simulation but I detest with a loathing organisations that hide their accountability and do not respond to their customers it is endemic in the computing world - I am just calling it out. As I said CAVEAT EMPTOR. If they were in business in the country where I live I could have any number of regulatory authorities assist me with such businesses but they are not.

My lesson deal with international web based businesses - expect to get stung. - Stick with products and people who you know and have proven they can deliver.

If you can't get in to the PMDG support site because your e-mail is blocked or showing as already registered, it's a pretty darned simple process to create a purpose-specific throwaway e-mail account at any of a legion of web e-mail services (GMail, Yahoo, Hotmail etc) and register using that for the purpose of getting your access straightened out.  To continue to beat your head against the wall with multiple futile attempts using just the one account is some pretty unimaginative and self-limiting problem-solving.  Just because you can't reach them on your terms does not mean they are hiding behind some "diabolical" subterfuge to escape accountability.  They are quite reachable if you care to really try.

It's quite common to have support site and forum software that is completely separate from the sales system, often running on completely different servers.  It's neither nonstandard nor is it uncommon to have to create separate logins for a sales site and the vendor's/developer's support forums.

What forum users say about the P3Dv5 compatibility of a product clearly not advertised as compatible with P3Dv5 isn't PMDG's responsibility.  I looked through their forums for statements from any PMDG staff member even hinting that the DC-6 would work on P3Dv5 as it is now and found none.  I found multiple mentions of the DC-6 being in the pipeline for eventual P3Dv5 compatibility.  Maybe it's just me, but--with just a little reading between the lines--I surmise that if a developer or others are talking about them working on getting a product ready for release on a different platform, that kinda means it's not ready for prime time on that platform right now.

At any rate, this topic has run its course.
