PF3 users, Opinions?

Featured Replies

Interested in opinions by any current users of PF3.  I am considering this in the MSFS environment, almost pull the trigger on it when using FSX.  Not interested in voice commands, ( not really compatible in my home environment), really just concerned with the AI and functionality, SIDS, STARS, Vectors, weather, etc....  I know P2ATC is the hot setup, but again, not interested in, nor looking for voice control.

Just as an FYI you can use P2ATC without saying a word to it.  There are options to have a virtual copilot that does all the talking.

I’ve used PF3 in the past and find P2ATC to be much easier to configure and use.  The included voices in PF3 are nice though.

Current System (Running at 4k): ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F, Ryzen 7800X3D, RTX 5090, 55" Samsung Q80T, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, EVGA CLC 280mm AIO Cooler, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & Stick, Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant & Add-on, VirtualFly Ruddo+, TQ6+ and Yoko+, GoFlight MCP-PRO and EFIS, Skalarki FCU and MCDU

Overall PF3 is nice. Great voices with regional accents. I also like that can use it for IFR and VFR flights. The developer also updates the program consistently. A low spot is probably how it handles SIDs and STARs. They are not automatically chosen, but must be inputted and created by the user. PF3 does not "control" AI with vectors, etc. but you can here ATC speak to AI on the radio.

Thanks for the opinions, still not sure which way to go, but both offer free demos.  Guess I'll check them out.

I have Pilot2ATC and have never used the voice option to respond to the program.  I love the program as it includes many different features in one (planning, moving map, atc, ect...)

Its a common misconception in P2atc you never have to use you own voice you can let your copilot handle ALL communications you will have to select a few commands for him by highlighting and then use the "sayit " button but most communications can and will be handled automatically

That’s the best move.  I know many people are happy with either option so see what fits your needs better.

Keep in mind on the Demo of PF3, it only has a couple of voices. The paid program has way over a hundred, which makes a big difference. I just got Ms2020 today, and tomorrow I am going to install pF3. Been using PF3 in P3D for years, on every flight. I love it.

I hope once of the voices sounds like Inspector Clouseau.
