The hardware manufactures should be thanking Microsoft for all the sales in these hard times.

Videocard prices are going up and up and it will not change in the meanwhile. The other option is to quit FS hobby, 😞

Managed to find a 3080 for 1399 EUR directly from a store, which seems to be a reasonable price these days. Sold my 2080Ti for 900, so the change was not so costly.

Did not have time to test it on MSFS yet, but I expect a decent boost.

How is the second-hand market for a 2080Ti? That card is good enough to run the sim in Ultra 3440x1440, if the prices are affordable, i think it is a good buy.

I'm starting to look there also, which is a pitty because it is only ~18% faster than the 2070 Super I have, but VRAM would be enough for an experience where you shouldn't need to stop and adjust sliders in GPU intensive areas.

I still have 6900 XT available. But I have no feedback at the moment.

Yes what’s the consensus on the 6900xt?

was thinking about 3090 but too expensive.

cheers

I asked the same question a while back in this thread - but so far no responses.  Maybe flight simmers just aren't using this card which I guess is kind of an answer.

I don’t think many gamers can get their hands on these cards during to the Bitcoin mining morons taking all the cards

I do some mining and don't consider myself a moron. Getting some revenue for doing nothing is something that should be celebrated during a global pandemic, so, while I understand the frustration, these generalizations are not helpful.

Kind of stupid if you ask me ,I did a little reading.
so you would have to spend 20000$$$ just on say 3090 gpus with a descent processor and ram to gain return of about 100$ a day??

Well, I would not do that. In my case, I sold my 2080Ti for about 1.000 EUR, bought a 3080 for 1.300 EUR and, since the purchase some weeks ago, I am almost recouping the price difference just by letting the new card mining while I am not using the PC.

They seem to be readily available in Australia but not much choice of brand - similar to the 3090.  Different story for the cheaper cards though.

Bit coin now hit new all time high worth 30+3090 GPU`s at $2,000 a pop.

Hey Bruce,

I am actually from Sydney Australia, thou reside in Canada now. What’s the price of the 3090 in aus? Here in Canada they are 2500 plus tax. Roughly 2800$

cheers
