List: What should be fixed with a next release of P3D

If you're going to post screenshots of your sim, then you should also disclose what addons you are using.  Your signature is very detailed about both of your very capable and expensive systems, yet there is nothing about all the 3rd party addons you have.

This thread is about improvements to the next version of P3D, so posting a screenshot of scenery heavily modified by 3rd party software is at worst misleading, and at best doesn't help the discussion.

Dave

I disagree.  So now we need disclosure forms to post screenshots?   I think it does nothing but help in the discussion.  It would be one thing if none of us disclosed our mods...but everyone here tends to post their mods, or how different they are from the base sim, on a regular basis.  That's how we have discussions and say, "hey, I can possibly add that to my sim as well", or "hey, maybe I can change x setting and get those results, too".

As was said, if someone is newer and questions mods or doesn't question mods, either way people are more than forthcoming about them.  It's a wonderful hobby and we WANT others to enjoy the same things we enjoy.

Fix the bug where dynamic lighting doesn't show up at your arrival airport. This is super annoying.

Please Dave. Do not start this again. It is not hard to get impressions about P3D defaults and ORBX products. Dozens of comparison videos in YouTube. Dozens threads here at avsim with screenshots.

Gerard did just show his setup with lights and add-ons enhancing lights.

P3D isn't nice out of the box. We all know this. And if a newbie has questions about this, we answer honestly.

I opened this thread and I have lots of good input gained here and elsewhere and already posted it at LM support.

So all fine.

What's your input by the way? Your post is also off topic 😉

Marcus

"Start this again"????  What are you talking about?

He posted a response to someone who requested that the night lighting be improved and stated "Here the night lighting  look fantastic.... ".  Then he posted a link to a screenshot of his night lighting which looked fantastic to me.  However, thanks to another poster, I discovered that he is using a 3rd party addon for his night lighting.  I don't think that is appropriate without disclosing what addon you are using.

I, too, would like the *default* night lighting to be improved, among other things.

Anyway. thanks for posting your ideas on the LM P3D forum.  I plan to do the same.

Your post is utterly lacking in context and you know it is so just stop with the semantics already. I know your specific setup includes all that night lighting you purchased from that individual whom we cannot mention (with good reason as his business is terrible).

So you forgot to add "with a few hundred dollars of add-ons ". I'm talking about default redo.

Thank you for telling everyone this.

P3D is a base that LM provides us and if you want it to look better you purchase Addons.

If you want more realistic ac you purchase Addons.

If you want realistic live weather you purchase an Afddon.

If you want better looking night lighting you purchase an Addon.

Most Addons are payware. Some are freeware.

It has always been like that.

But there are things/issues that Addons cannot solve, like TrueSky and other things in the list Marcus has made.

And that list is a good thing...
