Even in the 1600's magicians posters were almost always colorful and alluring, portraying them as marvel doers. A few of those inside are from the 1400's. One of our most enjoyable volumes on our shelves. 500+ pages, 16 x 11 inches, weighs 11 pounds. But it is a reprint, the original edition was taller, wider and weighed about 3 times as much, because the posters images were bigger.
