March 26, 20215 yr In the official forums Jayne posted a workaround which could mitigate some performance issues that were not fixed with today's hotfix. It is said that this can resolve some stutters, so if you are still getting lower than expected performance after the hotfix, make sure to try this. The file in question is the "FlightSimulator.exe". Quote Posting this here for anyone who wants to try this workaround as stated above for some other performance issues not addressed in the patch - it is easier to execute on Steam as the .exe is more available. Windows Store version is more steps… Windows Version Enable “hidden items” in explorer view Navigate to \Program Files\Windows Apps (this is the hidden file) Right click on “WindowsApps” and change the security settings: Go to Security Tab Click “Advanced” Change the OWNER to your account (local account signed in) Close the explorer window Re-open, and navigate to \Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.14.6.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe Locate the exe… etc.
March 26, 20215 yr Tried this pre patch did nothing. Most of these "wonder fixes" are pie in the sky tbh. As today's patch has proven, usually the only fix has to come direct from the developer - everything else is meh. Thomas Derbyshire
March 26, 20215 yr Tried this last week and it didnt work Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
March 26, 20215 yr I've yet to see anyone call out for definite any specific performance issues that were not fixed in the patch, and neither have I come across anything from any of my flights so far. By this I mean things that could still be real bugs, rather than limitations of my own hardware or OS set up.

This workaround is endorsed by Microsoft, and Jayne (the community manager) says that this specifically targets some of the issues that were not fixed with today's hotfix. If it was just some random workaround I wouldn't be posting it. 1 hour ago, fakeflyer737 said: Tried this last week and it didnt work This is meant for anyone who might still be experiencing performance issues AFTER today's hotfix.
March 27, 20215 yr I will not do this as I'm not having any probs.. I do reccommend excluding your MSFS install folder from Windows security scanning. Mine is C:\FS2020. March 27, 20215 yr I used it in some games to rescale a dysfunctional UI, the last one was ‘Dragon Age Inquisition’ I think. That it does anything about stuttters in MFS smacks of voodoo 😂.
