May 8, 20215 yr Is it possible to use multiple settings config files ? So when flying to larger airports with large cities nearby you could use lower Lod settings and lower car traffic settings . And when flying to smaller airports with smaller towns nearby you could use higher settings. May 8, 20215 yr Nothing is available like SimStarter yet (that I know of.) I take pictures of the different settings screens and adjust to my needs. Old school but it gets the job done without Rube Goldberging the whole process. You only change a few of the settings anyway so it's fairly quick. -J 13700KF | RTX 4090 @ 1440 | 64GB DDR5 | 2 x 1TB SSDs | 1TB M.2 NVMe
May 8, 20215 yr Author If the Options tab has its own file then it could be found. With a batchfile multiple files could be switched before starting MSFS. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0

The Options -> Graphics page settings are stored in "UserCfg.opt" file, located in "%appdata%\Microsoft Flight Simulator" (Steam version. MS Store version should be similar). ...jim ASUS Prime Z790-E, Intel i9 13900K, 32Gb DDR5 Ram, Nvidia 3090 24Gb, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB and 1 TB, Samsung Odyssey G9 Ultrawide 49" G-SYNC Monitor.

True, but I don't have a complete understanding of where and how many and what's their names yet so loading the program (which you have to do) and letting it do all the work is my chosen method right now. Together with MSFS Addon Linker it solves the problem easily. -J 13700KF | RTX 4090 @ 1440 | 64GB DDR5 | 2 x 1TB SSDs | 1TB M.2 NVMe
May 8, 20215 yr Putting the various configs in different folders and creating virtual links to the config files would do it. Edited May 8, 20215 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick

May 9, 20215 yr Switching the config file before launching the app is no problem at all. But I don't think this is of much use since you can't change the file with the game running and have to restart for using another pre-saved config. Asobo really should implement a save/load settings functionality.

I don't have the steam version so I can't point you to the file directly.
May 9, 20215 yr Author Made 2 different config files : IFR and VFR (sightseeing) Before launching MSFS I can choose if I want to fly different from last time. May 9, 20215 yr There should be an option to save configs like in P3D. That's not that hard to do and I assumed this would be possible out of the box. I was wrong. Tomaz Drnovsek My FSX Videos My AVSIM Gallery

I was wrong. ture, it should be but isn't. same with the sim rate display, was in the beta but isn't. it is really a shame that these very basic and simple things are missing. It is like if MS Word suddenly eliminated the letter 'L' in their next update and everyone said 'no problem, just use a capital i'. Overall, it is just weird.
