FBW A320NX Strange issue with AP

Featured Replies

Hi

I normally update the FBW Dev version daily, but i skipped a few days recently and only updated again last night. Now to the issue, whenever i activate AP after take off it instanlty disables with the usual tones indicating AP disconnection. I have tried everything from reconfiguring joystick, and dead zone settings, re -installing the aircraft. Even manually trying HDG mode the aircaft simply keeps turning.and AP cannot be activated, as it cancels immediatly.

Totally baffled as i have been using this mod since day one, but never seen anything like this. Have there been any other system setting changes in recent days, that i have missed?

Cheer's for any help

When I pick up such issues after updating, I completely remove the files from my community folder and install a fresh copy using the installer. Maybe try that.

I have tried that, even removed and re installed each version.. fault remains. (Nothing in the comm folder other than the A320NX (FBW livery)

Do the plane give you any warnings?

No, non at all. I'll take off and get to about 1k and select  AP, and it will flash instantly on then off with the disconnecting sound.and remains on runway heading. Where it gets more mysterious is if i then try and select heading that fails as well. Baffled.

Try hand flying it a little further lower your pitch and gain more speed than try to activate the AP, the FBW AP will not engage if the aircraft is in jeopardy of stalling. Someone on discord had the same issue.

Will do, but i think i have discovered biggar issues, the default 747 is not following the route now either. So it must be some issue my end. I am off to check things like navigraph data etc.

I'm flying the last dev version right now, no issue so far. AP is working normally.

Hope you solve.

HI,

I had same problem yesterday using the Dev version.

Cheer's guys.

Must be something my end, as it's happening with all aircraft. Strange as it was fine yesterday as i had been doing a few hops in the World Tour i am on at the moment. And whenever i got bored with that, i'd jump in a tubeliner for a quick flight, and is when i first noticed this issue.

I also fly the latest dev right now. No problems for me. If you can, make a video and show it. Otherwise it's hard to resolve this from the distance.

This may seem a bit strange, but sometimes the display elements (PFD) will not correctly initialise (maps unavailable, etc). If I close out the simulation, and restart, eventually the displays will normalise. This takes up to four attempts sometimes. Maybe "CAR147" can attempt this method. There are times initialisation will not occur correctly..regards. I'm on the "Dev" version.

I think the thread title is miss-leading now ,and not just with the A320nx, as the issue is affecting all aircraft with AP, Still trying to find whats causing the issue at my end.

FlyByWire have re-written the autopilot, have a look at your joystick deadzones. Had this happen in P3D in the PMDG 737, I increased the deadzone and it was fine.
