Next time don't assert what you don't know.

and I do think the sun and airport beacon lights are terrible looking without bloom on.  But if you like it (bloom) off....so be it.

One question when buying a new system is what to do with the old system. Giving to family or friends. Or keep both systems at you gaming desk! Perhaps the two towers on the floor to make room. All you need to normally access on the towers themselves are the USB and audio jacks and the power switch, which are conveniently on top of the towers.

I have 2 monitors on the desktop and two towers on the floor. And two manual switch boxes on the desktop. By just tapping two buttons (one on each manual switch box) I can have any combination possible:

Either one computer on monitor a or b.

Or that one computer on both monitors.

Or one computer on one monitor and the other computer on the other monitor.

I don't have to change Windows display settings, just use the switch box buttons.

The new computer runs MSFS or any game that needs horsepower, and the old computer runs everything else.

Manual instead of automatic switchboxes because the manual ones are cheap, reliable, and frustration free. Instead of an automatic switch intruding and making often unwanted display choices.

@Fielder yes, even though my new system is still some time away I've begun thinking about this very question. While this PC is old its still powerful enough for what its used for and in fact were it not for MSFS I'd just keep it since it runs all my other games without any issues.

The new one will cost quite a bit and perhaps I can sell the components from this one to raise some cash, but if I do the math and find out its not that much I'll just give it to someone.

Will be sad when that time comes, this machine has served me well for coming on 14 years without a single problem.

Next time don't assert what you don't know. There is a difference between  "I prefer" and "It is terrible looking".

With bloom on the lights have that halo around them like your eyes see it in real life too. From a far distance like your screenshots you won’t notice that much.

Just go standing on the runway when it’s dark and try with Bloom On and Off. But even at daytime you can see it :

And this is real life (Delhi airport - rw lighting manufacturers pic) :

Everybody’s preference but for me only I prefer scenery how it looks in real life and most of the time it is not that Polaroid look like many people want onscreen...

You got any plans to upgrade?

Not really. I have a PC that works, and I rarely replace electronics that aren't broken. I might double the RAM, going from 8 to 16 gig, but unless major parts of my system start breaking down, I don't see myself spending $$$$. Maybe towards the end of the year, or early next year.

After a few days "you think" and you no longer "assert anything"
