BC Tour – Okanagan & Kootenay

BC Tour – Okanagan & Kootenay

We begin at Kelowna (CWLW) in the Okanagan region of British Columbia and proceed northward performing landings or touch & go’s at a variety of airports and bush strips reaching the north most point of the route at Seymour Arm (XCSH1). The route then proceeds southward with longer legs over higher terrain into the Columbia-Kootenay region. Have your passports ready at Trail (CAD4) as we will cross into the US and finish at Sullivan Lake State (09S) just below the border.

Flightplan: Here.

Aircraft:

The route is 276 miles and a faster GA aircraft capable of 180knts cruise is preferred.  I will be flying the Rob Young Turbo Bonanza V3  in the Amber livery but as always you are free to fly what you like.   Remember to bring your airmanship, some of these airstrips are – lets say “interesting.”

I bought Orbx Kelowna and immediately thought, why? Now I know. 😉

I was worried that the authorities had closed Anglemont while putting in the scheduled CAT III system. But the airport does seem to be open at the moment.

A great route.  The Columbia River is impressive.  FS 2020 really allows for exploring the world.  To me, it provides a good sense of the geography of a place or feature.

Cheers!
