Did anyone try this one out yet?  I'm thinking of getting it but the price is $27US.

It's the same one...just hosted at Orbx page.

That's a lot of money for a low and slower and I'm not a fan of that cockpit  modelling. Something just seems.. Off and I can't put my finger on it.

It offers a few different avionics configurations.  I think I'll get it and give my impressions.

Cheers

One of the first AC I bought for MSFS , great little plane with several liveries . Also there are a couple of Bush trips included that are in AU .

Sterile and.. Out of proportion? It's as if someone put a 720p cockpit into a 4k aircraft if that makes any sense.

C'mon - it's just a game. 😃

Yeah the cockpit's are a bit new and shiney for my personal taste but it comes with a paint kit so I just modified them myself.   It is a matter of personal taste ( Just Flight with the Arrow went with a world weary worn out version and got criticised for that by people wanting a shiney new aircraft 😄 It seems you cannot win with flight sim addons no matter what you do)  .

The Orbx Jabiru is the same aircraft package as the Iris jabiru from the Iris website.

There is also a marketplace version of the same aircraft  BUT  the marketplace download is about 6 or 8 weeks out of date (only version 1.3 instead of 1.4) so I would avoid that one for now. Buy direct or get it from Orbx.

Note that the package contains two different airframes the 160 and the 170 with both glass and steam cockpits for each so four combos all up. You are basically getting 4 different aircraft with a batch of liveries and two bush trips. (the Victorian bush trip is very very good, the outback Queensland one for me less so,  for me it was a bit monotonous, though that is more to do with western Queensland terrain being much of a muchness for 100s of miles at a time then anything else).

The FM is overall pretty good within normal flight characteristics for the type, though they apparently gets a little unrealistic if you try and do things the aircraft is not actually rated to do in real life like Immelmans 😄 Other reported minor issues are the generic MS oversensitive steering and brakes on the ground unless you trim nose up and some people have reported a balance issue where it tends to yaw slightly in climb.

Overall though they are are pretty good and they sit somewhere between a 152 and 172 in performance - for me, they seem reasonably close to the real ones (though admittedly I only have a few hours in jabirus) .

ORBX Central won't install on my AMD machine for some reason so I decided to give the Beech G36 a try.  Really a nice default plane for low and not-so-slow IMO.

Very odd.

AMD do have their issues, on rare occasions you see graphics drivers crashing unexpectedly on some systems (and working fine on other seemingly similar systems) and can be a PITA if your running esoteric stuff like machine learning or high end statistics packages,  but generic Win10 consumer level software incompatibility is not really something I have come across

Was it an AMD CPU or an AMD GPU causing issues ?

Not sure.  Could be my goofy internet.
