June 26, 20214 yr Hey guys. I have the Crosswind's and love them. Very well made. I happened to stumble across the damper kit and wondering how exactly it changes the feel of the pedals. Any comments from people who have it would be appreciated. To answer quick to the question, yes there is an improvement. When you release the rudder will not anymore snap back into the middle position, it's a smooth transition that can be adjusted. I have the TPR and the Crosswind and initially both suffered from that instant centering. This damper mod does a nice job but my issue with them are the pedals design where you have that bump at the end of the pedals. I prefer TPR from that stand point. I keep on going back and forth between the two for that reason. So, the damper mod makes it much better by far. The other issue with them is that for some reason I find them very sensitive despite that they have own calibration software. Did you notice that? Is it just me? Do you have any suggestions to alleviate that issue if you have the same issue? Thanks. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.
June 27, 20214 yr Hi, like Vlad, I have the damper kit fitted and I have found it superb, smooth action and amount of damping can be controlled from the damper unit, just set it as you prefer, the price is excellent too. Vlad , by the “bump” at the end of the pedals, do you mean the pedal footrests as they can be removed I believe. Also I’ve not found them oversensitive, quite the opposite coming from my previous thrusmaster trfp pedals it’s like night and day, both takeoff , cruise and landing there is no tendency to overcontrol , the aircraft just goes where I want it to. I’m not at my flight sim computer at the minute but if I remember, I just calibrated through the MFG app and they were fine, MSFS sensitivities were left at default , but if you want I can can check later and post my settings. cheers Steve

On my unit for some reason, I can't find any way of removing that line at the end. 2) I also use the APP for calibration, the USB I use to plug in is a USB 3. I would really appreciate it if you can look at your settings and share that info please. I tried all the USBs available and I experience the same issue as to be oversensitive. I used them (both) on different computers and have the same issue, the only thing common for both PCs is that all have only USB3, none of them have USB2 for me to compare. All I can observe is that P3D and DCS don't have that oversensitive situation. Also, if anybody else have any suggestions please join the discussion. At the moment to alleviate this issue I experience is just to edit the aircraft config file, quite an inconvenience (at least from my point of view) because I don't know how. Thanks. June 27, 20214 yr You'll need to take a hacksaw to the heel retainer 'lump'. It's part of the pedal. @MarkDHAfter watching your video Mark, the damper suddenly became a 'must have'. Off I went to the website and wouldn't you know...Out of stock. 🤪 Edited June 27, 20214 yr by Ron Attwood The World is divided into two groups. June 27, 20214 yr Hi Vlad, I’ve checked my setup and my sensitivity sliders in MSFS are all at 0% apart from the bottom slider ,reactivity, which is 100%. Mine are plugged in to a powered usb hub which is plugged into a usb 3 port. In relation to the heel stops on the pedals, mine are definitely removable, they are bolted on with Allen bolts, I have the version 3 crosswinds so maybe they changed the design of the pedals, if so you may be able to get replacement pedals? Hope this helps, Steve

If is not too much trouble can you try only a direct connection to the usb, bypassing the powered one? I entertain the idea purchasing one if it might be the case. At the same time I'm looking at MSFS forum and lots of people are complaining what I experience while no one has any fix to it. They keep on waiting for more fine tuning options. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

Hrovje did say that Milan was going to do an aggressive audit of his damper stock, but I wouldn't have thought that would take so long (unless it revealed some problems). As for the 'lump', I suggest that people keep a keen eye on the Replika Gear website in anticipation of further upgrades MarkH https://www.youtube.com/@AlmostAviation AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D / 64Gb DDR5 / Zotac RTX 5070 Ti / 2560 x 1440 display

You might need longer bolts, as the holes are only recessed on one side. (And you would probably want dome-headed bolts, as they won't be recessed ) Edited June 28, 20214 yr by MarkDH MarkH https://www.youtube.com/@AlmostAviation AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D / 64Gb DDR5 / Zotac RTX 5070 Ti / 2560 x 1440 display
June 28, 20214 yr Thank you folks! I took my PC to a Microcenter to have it checked, they couldn't find anything wrong with my USBs (either direct connected to the motherboard or hub) using both rudders. I spent about 2 hrs with the technician and we found out that there is a difference between the USB2 vs USB3, the first one had no issues as to be as jumpy (sensitive) as to the second one. Still cannot explain why on P3D and DCS I don't have any issues while XP11 and MSFS shows these problems for certain PCs. At least on XP11 I was able to adjust it properly. All I hope, based on many complains that MSFS will fix this issue. Again, many thanks for support. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.
