I remember early on in my Crosswind ownership, Milan said to me (we had a TS conversation) that the pedals should be plugged into the motherboard USB not a hub where mine were initially plugged. Heeding that advice, my problem went away. Don't ask me what the problem was, it was too long ago.

I took my PC to a Microcenter to have it checked, they couldn't find anything wrong with my USBs (either direct connected to the motherboard or hub) using both rudders.

I will try to see that option too.

I had USB issues like those described when I was using some Saitek products. I was trying this powered hub and that powered hub, stepping back from USB 3.0 to USB 2.0, even to 1.1.  The plugging direct to a USB port on the MOB.  Could not solve the issue.  Two years of frustration ended when someone advised me to clearly identify then check device settings for those specific USB devices to disable Windows Advanced Power Management and if so disable it for those items.  Did that.  Problem solved.  With the Saitek Multipanel I also had to use a small app someone wrote that also performed a patch to a related Windows Registry entry for Saitek devices.  I believe you should check.

Control Panel; Device Manager; HID Human Interface devices....  Locate with certainty the USB item in question.  Check Properties, Power Management.  Deselect the option.  It says allow Windows to turn off power to the device but clearly for the Saitek devices Windows was reducing the power, not shutting it off.

Crossing my fingers for you....

At the same time I'm looking at MSFS forum and lots of people are complaining what I experience while no one has any fix to it. They keep on waiting for more fine tuning options.

I am watching this carefully.  Would you please point to these discussions?  I am ready to purchase these in about 30 days when the dampeners become available.  However I have a restricted amount of space under my desk and also need the WAP spacer accessory (widens or narrows the overall width).  When added to the dampener cost and the cost of shipping the total acquisition cost balloons from the product price itself of $340 to over $450.  I weight my purchases vs incremental difference (features/performance).

For $450+ these need to be flawless.  So I would like to visit those discussions.  I do see from eBay I can expect perhaps $175 back for my Saitek Pro Cessna pedals in original box!  But $275 for a product with potential issues vs one currently without serious issues..............

Yes, this is one of them and I will follow up with more.

Something very important to mention and a very big thank you about reminding me about "Control Panel; Device Manager; HID Human Interface devices." I did that change a while ago and completely forgot about it. Today when I checked the settings I found out that they were back to defaults to go to sleep. I suspect that the change was attributed to the new windows update I did, I think that the update reset everything in device manager. I could be wrong in my assumption but other modifications I had were also at defaults.

Anyhow, within that link there is a gentlemen that is sharing his settings and with little adjustment of what he has you will find a good compromise until Asobo will come with a fix.

Regarding the dampeners I find them very helpful and realistic, quite a very positive experience. As a real world pilot I find this "accessory" a must for these ruder pedals that have a tendency to snap back to the neutral position. It takes very little adjustment to your liking and I am sure that you will notice a big improvement.

Again, thank you very much for the reminder.

In relation to the heel stops on the pedals, mine are definitely  removable, they are bolted on with Allen bolts, I have the version 3 crosswinds so maybe they changed the design of the pedals, if so you may be able to get replacement pedals?

Something to contact him about if it is a concern.  The videos he has posted on his site do not show fasteners holding in those heel edges.  Of course the videos may have been taken before a possible production change.  In views from the top it is difficult to determine if the pedals in the videos are formed as part of the pedal or otherwise somehow else attached.  Did you need to attach those heel edges during your unbox and assembly?

Heel stops. here is a screen of the damper being fitted to some V3 Crosswinds. It was difficult to grab but you can just see the screw head bottom centre. This has to be a very recent modification.

Thank Ron!  That must be from the dampener video on their site.

Hi, as I said , mine definitely have the Allen bolts attaching the heel rests, I’ve taken a pic but not sure how to add it to my post

I believe Ron's post takes care of it.  Thank you.  Difficult so far to find a good video of the v3.  Most of the videos I found are from 2 to 8 years old.  Wish that mfg.sim would provide for a shopping cart that would accept building out an order that includes out-of-stork accessories and holding fulfillment until all items are in stock.  ex. Crosswind 3's, a WAP spacing kit, and a dampener.  One freight charge would then handle it.  Separate orders due to delays on one item or another really start to add up the shipping costs.

You'll need to take a hacksaw to the heel retainer 'lump'. It's part of the pedal.

@MarkDHAfter watching your video Mark, the damper suddenly became a 'must have'. Off I went to the website and wouldn't you know...Out of stock. 🤪

Ron.  I have had the Crosswind 3's and a couple of accessories in my cart there for over a month.  Can't put the dampeners in the cart as no stock.  I just now see that instead of "arriving 7/25" or arriving on any other date, the dampeners are now shown as "no longer in stock".  Have you heard if he is still planning to offer them?  Shipping to the USA is almost $60.00 and is the same with or without the dampener.  Shipping for the dampener kit alone is over $30.00 so I continue to wait.  I emailed him several days ago but did not hear back.

You can buy the 'Combat' upgrade kit from Replika Gear. This gives you the adapter plate and also new footbeds. You then have to buy the damper itself from Amazon or elsewhere. It'll be more expensive, but you will end up with what you need. (This is the guy who designed the mod, by the way.) If you have the V3 pedals you can go ahead and buy the damper anyway as you don't need the adapter plate, although it looks like you will also need to source two bolts and bushings (stand-offs) elsewhere.

Wow!  That is incredibly helpful.  The US Amazon price is lower by 8 dollars, albeit without the two bolts and bushings.  Especially considering shipping costs to the US if ordered separately (later than CW3 pedals). The bolt and bushing specs are in the CW product listing (2x Din912 M8x40 screws, 2x Aluminum 16,5mm long ring Stand-offs(?).  (stand-offs are normally threaded but these based on his video are hollow spacers).

Thank you!

I asked Milan about availability and he said it should be available 'in 10-15 days'. He didn't say why it went unavailable! I did notice the website description has changed to recommend the V1/V2 kit over the V3 one, as the V3 will always be slightly asymmetrical. Otherwise we can only speculate on why there has been a delay.
