What is your favorite area to fly in?

Recommended Posts

Hey!

I'm looking for a new home base since my IRL isn't well represented in the game.

I like to fly the Arrow, TBM, DC6, CJ4 and A320.

Do you have any recommendation for a nice  that's well made in the sim or has some good scenery to get for?

Iceland looks simply jaw dropping with the freeware ORBX mesh,  https://orbxdirect.com/product/iceland-mesh-msfs    The current landing challenge happens to be at BIIS in Iceland,   https://acukwik.com/Airport-Info/BIIS

When I fly vintage aircraft I like to base out of Fantasy of Flight in Polk City, Florida.   (FA08) https://flightsim.to/file/16471/fantasy-of-flight-fa08

I've been really enjoying exploring France and the British isles in their world-updated versions. There's so much variation in terrain. You can start on the sunny Côte d’Azur and end up in some snowed-in ski resort altiport like Méribel or Courchevel after flying less than an hour, and the Alps and Pyrenees are quite beautiful with the updated ground meshes from the world updates. Also, there's a ton of free scenery available for western Europe, from small airstrips up to payware-quality international Airports like the excellent Gatwick.

That's a great option, thanks!

Australia 😍

Australia as well for me. Orbx did a good job with the tech they had at the time, but those old FTX sceneries are a poor approximation of the beauty represented in MSFS. The rich, Earthy colors are just astounding! The outback has such beautiful texture, the mountains in the east are stunning. Amazing coastline all the way around. Totally out of superlatives- makes me want to visit IRL for sure.

Flew in a multiplayer event on Saturday in Switzerland and it was really nice. Of course it was included in the Nordics Update recently! I used to fly from EGLL to LSZH all the time. Have to try it after the Word Update now in the big iron. It was extremely nice in the multiplayer in GA aircraft we were flying in, and I flew some of it in the Payware PT-17 Stearman 75 that is in the Market Place. Love that aircraft.. And only $15.00 USD too!

Uh, what? No, it wasn't. The Nordics update encompasses the Scandinavian countries. Switzerland will be included in the upcoming World Update VI.

Pacific-North-West. Why? Because there where always a good scenenry since FS98. So I got a lot of memorys of Airstrips, Waterdromes and with the comming Misty Morning it will be better then ever.
