July 8, 20214 yr New Release: Bear Studios NANCHANG CJ-6A PRIMER TRAINER - Third Party Addon Discussion / Aircraft - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums Does anyone wanna go first on this one? I am not doing it this time. It appears to be a semi-study level bird according to the description, but it's strange - both P3D AND MSFS compatibility. That's a first. But every screenshot is of the P3D version, so no idea what it looks like in MSFS. Anyone? 😉
July 8, 20214 yr That looks interesting but 36€ on Simmarket is too much for a highly speculative punt. If it appears on JF store for £19.99 like the P3D version that might be a different matter 🙂 Edited July 8, 20214 yr by Matchstick

July 8, 20214 yr Author The product says that the P3D version is used by the Chinese military for training, so I would assume it's high-fidelity. The question is... does it render well in MSFS? And does it work the same? And does it fly using Modern or Legacy? I do use P3D, but I am not purchasing any more aircraft for it, I have plenty. I used to buy everything for MSFS and review it on MSFS forums, but I have had enough of people ridiculing me for spending my money on things that aren't good (even though the entire purpose is so that there would at least be SOMEONE reviewing it and warning others if it's junk)... so this time someone else may have to take the gamble. I e-mailed the developer and asked for MSFS screenshots and the answers to above questions. If he provides those, I MAY take a chance on it.

July 8, 20214 yr Hang on: they list it on an online retailer site with screenshots from a different sim platform? What am I missing here? 🤨 If this is any indication of their attention to detail then I think I'll just fly the old stock 172.

On Simmarket, at least, you look to be getting a bundle of both the P3D and MSFS versions hence the P3D screenshots.
July 8, 20214 yr I'm pretty forgiving of some of this stuff (hey - I bought the CS 777) but this looks appalling. Hope this is not a foretaste of their stuff, they had some nice aircraft for P3D but if they're going for this approach they won't be worth looking at. Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

I am curious how their stuff was in P3D. I don't know anything about these guys.

I had their J10, J15 and Su30 all running ok in P3D versions 3/4/5. Looking at my spreadsheet I can see they're all marked as 'FSX version' but they went in ok. From what I remember they were quite nice looking but with the quite 'flat' looking finish that a lot of FSX models had. Can't check them now as P3D is not really set up on my system any more but I don't remember any major problems with flying - but then I'm mostly a 'ctrl-e' kinda guy so it's possible some systems didn't work properly. July 9, 20214 yr Author This thing is a non-starter. I have been in contact with the dev who is currently in the hospital in China and he doesn't even have access to MSFS. This plane doesn't work in MSFS, period. He has removed MSFS from the title and added a notice to the front page that it was only tested on a sim with no updates to it, so it won't work in any current versions of MSFS.
