Pre and post update results- LAX to Downtown L.A-. Baron

In Cockpit

4K all sliders at high or ultra.

Pre Update:

Takeoff 25-30FPS

Circling downtown L.A.

32-45 FPS

Post Update:

Takeoff 30-45 FPS

Circling downtown L.A.

40-46 FPS

Overall 10-20 FPS increase

Massive improvement to loading and unloading times.

Time to load a flight- Less than 10 seconds

Time to Return to Main Menu closing a flight- Less than 4 seconds

Some noticeable improvement to overall smoothness- micro stutters still present.

Specs:

Homebuilt

Water Cooled I7 6700k Skylake 0C to 4.5

EVGA 2080 ti RTX Ultra

32 Gigs Ram

Evo ssd's

Quicler load times are a much needed improvement. Good stuff.

Simming since FS 98. MSFS rig - Ryzen 3600 4.2Ghz - 32GB RAM 3600Mhz - Motherboard MSI 570 A Pro - RTX 2080 Ti -all overclocked - 2xNVME storage. PSU Corsair HX850i platinum. Average 30Fps on 4K ultra.

The load times for me are most important. I already get great FPS so anything more is just extra. The load times were always a pita. Especially the initial launch from windows and the exit from flight to main menu.

(Edit- This was just with the base update installation)

Still have to update install premium update and any others.

Total ditto. The approach to KLAX from the east to west to 25 R or L from about 20 miles out used to be a stuttering nightmare all the way to touchdown. NO longer! Smooth as glass using the FBWA3320. Yes, in-cockpit views remain at 25FPS give or take, but external views have vaulted up above 40 to 45! Never saw that kind of performance before. Wonderful!

Assuming all settings the same with no mods, those are nice results.

Can anybody confirm that the scenery redraw when panning the view is really noticeable? There are people reporting that it's almost unbearably bad.

I assuming you all do this test without traffic because of the CTD problems?

THANK YOU! This issue has been a show stopper for me for 8 months. I can finally start simming again.

Update: Turning VSync On and limiting FPS to 30 has eliminated the micro-stutters I was seeing and the sim is smooth like I've never seen before in any sim.

Indescribable really how smooth this is running.

Would be interested to hear of performance improvements with Ryzen processors, I happen to have a 2700X @4.2GHz.

Yeah. It's amazing. Ultra, 4k at 100% render scale over NYC is smooth with 40 to 60 fps. Love it. Before it was 25 to 30 fps.

Agree...those seem better though I've not measured.  What is fixed is the stupid hang I used to get when exiting out of the sim.  It just exits hurray!
