It doesn't hurt as long as you don't update the sim or try to do option changes on the fly, if you want to do those remove the read only option. I've been using this method since the beginning

that's the thing, you don't get to decide about the updates, and when they come you will be typing here about issue 😉

A few more shoots, I just can't get enough of how good it looks now and how well it performs. Definitely no issues with washed out looking anything.

I wasn't satisfied with how the colors were after SU5 and after seeing this thread I decided to turn on HDR and WOW... it's like this game was made to run in HDR now, absolutely fantastic!!!

I also after testing tonight really like HDR.

Its not dark at all, I thought it would be.

Colours are great.

But...my clouds are very blown out, very white and it wont let be turn off bloom.

Any ideas?

I changed my G7 from SRGB to RGB. And reset my colours etc but still very white..

make sure you are using 10bit color in the Nvidia control panel.

Check what color space your monitor is able to support and what percentage of that, the HDR spec is for Rec2020 color space, SRGB is a smaller container but it will be better than RGB but you should be using WIDE COLOR GAMUT in Windows and also check that you are running 10bit or higher in Nvidia control panel. 8 bit will look washed out and/or weak. It will be a bit of fiddling around until you get it all right but in the end it will be worth it.

I was on SRGB and changed it to RGB to have more control over colours.

It’s on 10bit

were do I find WIDE COLOR GAMUT in Windows?

The game looks absolutely stunning on my lg c1 oled. If anything, it looks even better than sim update 4. I think they upped the dynamic range when in hdr.
