August 6, 20214 yr As well if you're still not able to select servers you have to turn Multiplayer on for that to work now. I have lots of RW live traffic in the G3000 display, I can see planes when they land, but I no longer see their beacons/nav lights in the air. Anyone found a way to reenable this? Here's a shot from around KTTN. August 6, 20214 yr Author I will set it and see. Have you ascertained if it's necessary to to the Low-End, Apply, Ultra, Apply routine? Or is it sufficient to just do it and make the file read only? To be honest it seems like you don't need to do the ritual but then again I noticed at CYOW GPU use seemed to go up but it wasn't really a reliable test. I've got my stuff set and put to read only. Everything sticks. I can then still change settings in game if I want but obviously they wont stick after a restart of the sim. Also, setting low latency mode to Ultra (In CP) just put the final layer of butter on my sim 🙂 also has the benefit of lowering VRAM usage. Worth trying if you haven't. I have Aniso Filtering to 16 in both game and CP. Wont go into a long explanation.. but it got visibly the best results despite defying all logic about how AF works 😄 I'm vsync'd at 30 and its crispy visuals and buttery smooth. Never seen anything like it. ..a tweak of the lighting from Asobo and ill be in sim heaven.

Someone responded if you're main thread limited that may not be the best idea, but yes I notice about a 12% reduction in GPU utilization w/ no untoward effects using Ultra. I still am getting a microstutter w/ the spinner that appears in the lower right part of the display but the frequency of that appearing has gone down signfiicantly w/ SU5 so I'm not getting rid of it by toggling Dev Mode on then off in flight, which also ends up killing logging of that flight. All in all now my chief complaint is the quality of cloud rendering has gone down, the altitude bug, missing AI lights, and the fact I'm sitting here w/ a brand new 3080Ti and don't have a reason to install it hardly! Even Roman Design's CYOW which gobbled up VRAM and GPU I was able to run all ultra there this morning and only briefly hit 99% GPU, and VRAM never exceeded 7.3Gb. I do hope to see sliders/controls to use more GPU for folks who can, and then I can justify keeping this 3080Ti which is still sealed in its box. What I notice now is the sum total of VRAM + SysRAM almost always is just a bit lower than Xbox Series X total VRAM of 16Gb, w/ a little headroom left. Vsync at 30 is always a good thing! Using Unreal Weather Live Metar is also great if you need live weather. Much more visually pleasing results.

August 8, 20214 yr AFAIK, the devs have stated, multiple times, DX12 will come at some point on PC which will then allow raytracing. Currently, RT On or Off does nothing.
