This is unlikely to improve with a reinstall, since WT are still actively developing their G1000. It is not bulletproof yet..

Yes. But holding out hope I can overcome the freezes of MSFS itself, which seemed independent of the G1000 freezes.  Never had both happen but that would have only manifested if the sim froze after the G1000.  And I am not certain my avionics freezes have been limited to the G1000.  Believe I've had them happen with the GNS and G3000 as well.

MSFS is wonderful, but it is not really rock solid..  be prepared for the odd freeze or CTD.. no idea how long it will take before this all shakes out. 😉

I fly with a group of Avsim RTWR guys and every flight, someone runs into some fatal problem.. and has to restart the sim.

Am now in the process of installing again, this time into a short path of D:MSFS2020.  Incredible how cumbersome it was to determine how to get the installation started.  Exasperating!

I did last Thursday because of an issue, which turns out I didn't even to reinstall to fix.

I also had to reinstall windows because unrelated reasons. So a super fresh install.

Since the X-Box App or the MS Store did not want to update MSFS under Windows 11 Beta, I deinstalled the game. Of course I kept the "Official" folder (I am not crazy!), so I only had to reinstall the core game. Two or three minutes, 1.18.15 installed, everything fine.

3 hours into a fresh install, the process feeding my 100 mbps connection at speeds varying from 48 MBPS down to 8 MBPS. Here at 3 hours its at 49%.  61.6 of 126.15 GiB

Feels like 78 knots IAS with a 20 knot headwind.....  Hoping for a FROPA and WSHIFT soon!  May need to fly an MSFS jet for the first time just to catch up with my expectations...

Reminds me of an early Kenny Rogers and the First Edition song.

Finished! Five hours to the minute!

Thank both of you however each of you has installed and then later applied hot fixes.  My inquiry was if anyone has done a fresh install where the install process is now up to date and does not then require applying  a hot fix.  Hope that is more clear now.

Should be no issue. A fresh in stall today will set you up as I am.

I would not worry at what speculators say; yet - very important - check the Microsoft latest instructions and recommendations. Follow those closely.

Best regards
