Edinburgh Airport strange behaviour SU5++?

Featured Replies

I landed in Edinburgh airport yesterday only to find the terminal buildings had been sold off (apparently) as in the picture. Went back to Main Menu and loaded up a flight out of the same airport and the building reappeared. How odd!

I take it that's the default version? as i have the 3rd party version which is working fine.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung  NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive

What 3rd party version are you refering to?

There is a nice freeware version available on Flightsim.to or Pyreegue Dev recently released a superb payware version available on Orbx and Simmarket.

Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB, Win 11. MSFS2020. Moza, MFG, Fulcrum & Virpil controllers. Quest 3 for VR.

Presumably it was some weird caching behaviour which sorted itself out, possibly due to some detail preference changes you might have made to take advantage of improved frame rates maybe?

I have same issue with Pyreegue dev version from OrbX.  A friend has as well.  If you spawn at EDI the jet bridges and some other bits are missing.  But if you come in to land from somewhere else at EDI then all scenery displays correctly. Must be a LOD issue since SU5 and the hotfixes.  I presume it's loading a low poly lod when coming into land which makes them display. Sure it will get an update soon enough.

Just checked here and Pyreegue Dev version is fine for me. Full airport And jetways showing up when I spawn at Edinburgh.

I get exactly the same every time I fly into Heathrow. Most of the buildings gone. I have to pause the game, change settings to low and save, change back to ultra and save, and the buildings appear! Seems the game has issues with some of Asobo's default airports since SU5 update.

I am very wary of mucking about with settings as I have found those that suit me with hardly any CTDs and have never touched the config side  so I initially put it down to my less than brilliant Internet speed, but if others have found a similar problem, perhaps not?

I was tempted with that which looks very good, so it is on my list for when/if it comes on sale 🙂

Me too, I have literally never touched the config file in  a text editor, don't even know where it is actually, I am referring to the in-sim options, which allegedly sometimes don't 'stick' and sometimes need a bit of jiggling around with to change in spite of appearances to the contrary.

I have proved to myself that my "close to" ultra settings do not stick, but stopped jiggling around, content with waiting for the next upgrade.
