I think I am correct in assuming that the vertical navigation component is a completely separate development process.  Has anyone heard anything about that?

Yes they working on it as well in parallel but I think VNAV will take sometime due to the complexity

Well, VNAV depends on LNAV. There is a bunch of development on the VNAV branch, but it can't be finished until LNAV works reliably in most circumstances.

The donations are not directly needed r the development of the systems rather they go towards the website and media aspect of what they do.

Most of it goes to the CDN for the updater infrastructure according to the open collective page.

It's now live and available in the new experimental version from the installer.  Which has made my day!

They are announcing it soon. But it's available now. And it's good! No more wretched USR waypoints and smooth curves....

Plane is tracking the smooth curved path exactly for me!

Great to know. I'll update now.  Those pesky USRs were driving me nuts!  Any bugs to be expected en route?

They say "it's a bit quirky". But it seems absolutely fine to me.

Ok.  I'll do a test flight from EHAM to EGCC and see how she flies...

Lol. I'll need to turn on TCAS then.I'm on route EGGD to EHAM. 😀

I'm a little bit confused at what "custom flight plan manager" means.  Is it something outside the flight sim where we make a flight plan, like SimBrief?  Is it something in the MCDU or on the iPad to plan routes properly?  Or does it just mean the plane behaves better?  All I want are smooth curves and for it not to circle around the previous waypoint when ATC give me an approach.  This looke really promising but despite my research, i don't quite know what it is!
