An example of great service

Featured Replies

We simmers can be a demanding bunch, and we're generally not hesitant to complain about things we're not happy about!

So I wanted to share this example of great service;

Yesterday I bought a MSFS addon for my local GA airfield; Fishburn in the UK.  It's a small GA airfield, 2 minutes from the private home of a certain Mr Tony Blair (don't hold that against it!), which won UK GA airfield of the year in 2004.   The product (by Taburet) was generally nice, with a good custom model of the well known "Aviator" cafe.  However, there was one big problem - the custom aifrield came with no parking spots in MSFS. (This is also the case with the default Fishburn airfield in MSFS).  This means that it was impossible to begin any cold & dark flight from the airfield; as you always had to swawn on the runway.

I emailed the developer yesterday to mention how disappointing this was for a payware dcenery.  He replied within the hour, agreed, and stated he would get straight onto adding a suitable parking spot, for an update.

He emailed the very next morning (today) to let me know that he had added a parking spot and got the updated version onto Simmarket as an urgent update.  Sure enough, I logged in, and there was new version 1.3 with a perfect positioned parking spot added.

I've not come across this type of responsiveness and helpfulness before, and with all the comments about poor customer service from another developer in our community, I wanted to share this great job!

My experience of small payware highly-dedicated developer sorts has been very positive too.

Looking at you, Macco Simulations....😀

I'm also big fan of some freeware devs whose extraordinary efforts have boosted the sim experience for so many of us.

Always good to hear of responsive devs.

..and with that in mind I have to give a shout out to Bijan Habashi developer of the 4 Seasons pack.  Anyone whos followed  his thread on the official forums or has had any personal interaction with him will tell you he is the textbook example of a dedicated and responsive dev.  I don't think he's slept since 2020 😄    Always improving and updating his product, always willing to add things his customers want (within reason of course) , quick to respond to correspondence. Always helping those with any issues, often going well beyond what is reasonably expected.

These are the people you are more than happy to give you're money to.

Yep, both Bijan Habashi developer of the 4 Seasons pack and Dave at Pilot2ATC are both great.

I was making a loose contrasting reference to the many posts recently about Aerosoft Customer Service.  I say loose because I don't own any Aerosoft products and have never been on their forum, personally. But what I've read has been quite eye opening.

I wrote 'quite' as 'quiet'. I'm languishing in self disgust.

I would really like to add Jean-Luc from RXP

Bjork from FS2Crew, and,

not a developer, but, Bert Pieke who has helped so many people over the years and continues to do so.

As examples of consumer and customer support, these guys must also rank very highly and fully deserve a mention.

Tony Chilcott.
