August 19, 20214 yr I know how to use Google maps or an equivalent to find GPS coordinates so that I can depart from any place on earth. I love that aspect of the sim. My frustration is that the sim always starts you in the air at 1500 feet. I don't always want that; in fact I mostly DON'T want that. I'd like to have the option of starting on the ground, cold and dark if possible, but at the very least stationary. That's how I want to begin a flight, but I am not at all sure MSFS lets you do that. Can anyone advise me as to whether or not this is possible and if yes, how do I go about it? Thanks in advance to anyone who cares to take a run at this.
August 19, 20214 yr start cold and dark at the nearest airfield then slew to your location that you want to start from would seem to be one way of doing it. Graham System specs... August 20, 20214 yr They really need to let us specify a value and option for that instead of having it fixed to a certain altitude. August 20, 20214 yr Author Thanks all, for the replies. Hopefully one day we will see this capability, but for now, at the very least, I understand the functionality is simply not there so I will stop looking for it. I value economy of effort, so all this helps. Moria 15, I will try your method.

August 22, 20214 yr I think this happens when you just choose a departure airport. The sim puts you on on a path to the runway at 1500 feet.

Start on runway or start at gate (ready or C&D) then go to your location and altitude on the map. I think better than slew. Hope this helps. https://flightsim.to/file/3181/fspm-vfr-map Edited August 22, 20214 yr by kt069 Intel i7-9700K - AMD 7900 XT (VRAM 20GB) - 32 Gb Ram - SSD Drive - Win10 x64 - Samsung 43" 4K TV - Quest 3 VR
