Clouds so transparent? Anyone else?

Featured Replies

I am flying a simple VFR flight today and I saw some of the best rendered clouds I've seen so far, when viewed from above (live weather over KSUW).  With an exception that they are so transparent....  ugh.  Are others getting this?  Ultra vs high doesn't seem to affect anything.  Maybe they render them this way to save fps?  I'm not sure but it's kind of been an issue for me since the beginning.

Looking at your picture, I think there is a good mixture of transparent and solid clouds... I actually think they are quite well done, except the pixilation I get on the storm clouds....

Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.

For me to, some kind of clouds are realy thin so i think this transparence is OK.

Looks OK to me.

While the transparency looks good, they do suffer from the reduced color depth.
I hope Asobo will recognize this and restore it to pre SU5.

I am seeing that as well.  Not very realistic to see transparent portions in the middle of a cumulus cloud.  Altocumulus perhaps, but that because altocumulus are higher, more spread out laterally, and thus have thin spots.

yeah there is some sort of rgb effect that I can see.  I guess I must be seeing different clouds here in the midwest usa.  I still think they are too transparent, especially for cumulus clouds.
