Just picked up the Carenado Seneca.

Featured Replies

Just picked up the Seneca, could be pilot error here but a few thing I noticed perhaps looking to see if anyone has these issues as well or maybe it’s just me.

when you put flaps up the aircraft pitches incredibly nose high, anyone else?

also, autopilot works horribly, on v/s mode it can’t capture the selected fpm at all, still gotta play around with it but anyone else had these issues?

edit…It was pilot/user error

Update, for others that it may help, autopilot wasn’t working cause my master autopilot switch on my honeycomb bravo was conflicting, as for the abrupt flap nose dives, had to switch to modern controls..

may help others.

The plane has not been updated for SU5 yet. As a consequence, the AP is acting up.

They mentioned on their Facebook page that it has been updated a week ago or so, autopilot is working fine now that I’ve got it figured out….Still waiting on the Mooney update though!

Although people tend to generally regard the Seneca well, I too find the flight handling characteristics to be very wonky and lumpy. Hard to describe but the exagerated flaps moment you described I definitely see too.

Update on my findings of this airplane, now that I have it setup nicely, I’m actually reallly enjoying and quite impressed with the work by Carenado on this one. This will definitely pursuade me to purchase more from them (cough C337 cough)

Nope, it was the first of Carenado planes to be updated after SU5.
