September 6, 20214 yr Author Also I did not check anything else in the Nvidia control panel, only ticked the box adaptive refresh rate inside Prepar3D.
September 6, 20214 yr The only time I tried G-sync (in my Freesync monitor), I started getting DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_RESET errors. Sadly I had to disable it. Maybe I did something wrong (for example, enable Gsync while having FPS locked at 30 in either NCP or RTSS), but this is the only way I've suceeded making P3D crash. Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. Running P3D v5.4 (with v4.5 scenery objects as an additional library, just in case), FSX-SE, MSFS2020, MSFS2024 and even FS9! Lossless Scaling for all my sims. What a godsend...Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). I've done as you suggested: In P3D Display VSync: Off Triple Buffering: unchecked Variable Refresh Rate: Checked Target frame rate: Unlimited In Nvidia Control Panel G-Sync: Enabled for windowed and full screen mode On Manage 3D settings and for P3D: Max Frame Rate: 36 FPS Monitor Technology: G-SYNC This resulted in a very smooth flying experience. I don't know why others say that P3D can't take advantage of G-sync. Maybe they were talking about an earlier version. Again, thank you. I have to have chaseplane, google crome, also psxseecon minimised otherwise or the gsync goes nuts. if you can find a way to "force G-sync to prioritize P3D over all other programs to control refresh rate." id be very interested too. thanks.
