One of the biggest issues I have with the MSFS camera system is the vertical placement of the external camera. For some reason the sim places the plane in the bottom quarter of the screen, which leads to all sorts of issues including parts of the plane off the screen in many circumstances as well as a general feeling of unease at the dissymmetry of the entire scene.

1. Has anyone heard from the actual devs on why this painful design choice was made? It literally gives me a headaches sometimes as you see more of the sky than the ground

2. Has anyone found a solution to this problem, in the form of a mod or cfg editing?

I use Track IR all the time, I just hit the center control when looking up a bit and the air craft is centered.

We just had a big thread on this hehe.  It's an annoying issue

Not sure if I get it, but couldn't you pan with your joystick up and down and level the aircraft up?

panning up and down simply rotates the camera, not translate it. so the plane will always forever be off-center. until a mod comes along to save us

I'm Ok with the way it's now, but this is just me... The real trouble I had in the past several times is an annoying movement of the horizon that obliges you to center the view around the aircraft all the time, but as strange as it sounds, gets resolved by itself, and sometimes it comes back.

I just want the ability to move the camera closer to or further from the aircraft. All we can do is zoom for some reason. 😑

The external view camera is very weak compared to every other game ever. They make up for it with the drone mode, but you can't fly and use the drone at the same time, or spin around the aircraft on an axis like external view.
