November 4, 20214 yr Are you looking for the US Air Force's jet trainer? Currently I believe it's still the T-38 Talon, soon to be replaced by the T-7 Red Hawk. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_T-7_Red_Hawk

McDonnell Douglas and BAe got together and put it forward as a US Navy trainer. Carrier version of the Hawk basically. Fancy radar and stuff added at a later date.
November 5, 20214 yr The USAF's primary trainer is the T-6A, which is the analog to the Navy's T-34C, and the USAF advanced tactical jet trainer is the T-38B, which is the analog of the Navy's T-45. At present, the T-7A is slated to start replacing the T-38B in 2024, with the first operational squadron standing up in 2025, and the complete changeover completed in 2034. That said, the production and employment schedule has been slipping like Inspector Clouseau on a banana peel. November 5, 20214 yr Not to argue, Bob, but thought the T-34C was replaced by the T-6? Best, Jim Edited November 5, 20214 yr by Jim Harnes clarity
November 5, 20214 yr T-34C's are from the 70's and used by the USN and USMC, the T6 Texan II used by the USAF is much newer than the T-34C's. Edited November 5, 20214 yr by Dave_YVR i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024

I knew it was planned a while back, but the navair website still describes the T34C as if it's still in active use. A closer look (at the CTW-6 training fleet) reveals 40 T-6Bs and no T-34Cs left. That makes perfect sense given how we do joint pilot training now.
