They went dead silent on social media. Not even bothering to respond to any of the posts on Twitter.

Too many forums. If you know something we don't, could you share?

Maybe silence is good news? They better not wait too long if WT will be fixing the Navigation units in the base 747 and the Premium 787 in 2022. Many folks may not need them.

The last info from QW official forum was as follows (dated 5 October):

---------------------------------------------------------------------

From the start they said this would not be avail until Q3 and they have provided careful updates along the way.  I can respect that and it satisfies my need to know.

Actually not really. From the start PMDG said it would be avail 1Q 2021 (and the was in Jun 2020). Then later on they backed off of that and estimated Q3/Q4 2021. Other than to say things were in progress, they stayed relatively silent about the 737 in MSFS until recently.

Why can't QW provide regular updates in the same fashion?  Radio silence is far more concerning then updates stating the brutal truth.

Because we've been down that road before.

If you look in the press release section, you'll see there was a time we did do regular quarterly updates.  But we stopped doing it as it was just counterproductive.

On the one hand we'd have people complaining they we didn't meet the estimates we gave out.  On the other hand we had people complaining we had too many updates with not enough progress shown or a product release. we also put too much pressure on ourselves to put out the next update as people were expecting it every quarter.

So we stopped doing regular updates, and our mental health is the better for it.

Really making that Q2 2021 estimate was against the grain for us, but we had made so much initial progress we made a presumption of MSFS stability which did not continue. MSFS is clearly still in development (PMDG used the term moving target).  Though PMDG mentioned the impact of the V5 update on their development. In reality just about every MSFS update has affected development for just about every aircraft addon dev.

We have refocused some of our efforts, we feel better being silent until we have something tangible to announce.
