December 12, 20214 yr Commercial Member My hopes for a B742 are waning (I was hopeful for the JF but it appears very stagnant after these years); I would have also loved to see a "modern"/polished 707, 727, 732/3/4/5, A306, among others. But reality is setting in for me with P3D it seems. Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM

Indeed, here are some of JF's comments: Quote That's not the reason but nice try. The reason as we have explained previously is because the projects lost its way and progress was painfully slow. We've now brought a new developer and new expertise onto the project but it's meant a lot of coding has has to be redone or reworked so just at the moment it's a lot of grunt work getting done meaning we're unable to give a precise update. Thanks for your patience. Quote [...]747 is a very different kettle of fish. It has been a complete aircraft in P3D for quite some time and the delays on it have been down to a change in systems development team when it was nearing completion. It makes more sense to complete the aircraft for P3D and then re-develop for MSFS, rather than start again from scratch in MSFS. But, my excitement level from the initial announcement has certainly fallen these past years to the point of, “if it releases before I fully move to MSFS or pick up XP, fantastic, I’ll take a look; if it doesn’t, oh well.” Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM
December 12, 20214 yr Author The 747-200 in X-plane that everyone talks about: https://store.x-plane.org/Boeing-747-200-Classic_p_1491.html I'm considering to get XP 11 for the sake of this 747, but not sure what kind of performance/visuals I would get there with an i7-8700k and GTX 1080ti. Tried the demo, but it was not a very great visual/performance experience. My guess is that as with P3D, there is a lot of payware you have to acquire to make the sim look good.

Not a visual guy, my XP is almost defult with only shadow tweak and cloud re-texture, overall environment looks not as good as P4D let along P5D (Ah, those cardboard cloud), but the aircraft/airports are up to pace IMO. Performance it's about same as NGXu on my rig, but when facing FE panel with a lot of polygon the FPS drops down to like 20, while when facing up on pilot's seats when Takingoff/Landing, lt's nice 30+ About this jet, it's very good on system and could be opearte and flown by the book, also very good on manual flight feeling, the only complain I'm about is some syetsm like pneumatic slightly lacks some "organic" feeling, like when opening and closeing PACKs, the air pressure will drop, but not fluctuate, also if it's on APU bleed, the APU EGT would not change as per FCOM's note.

But two questions that would need to be answered. -Potential SDK limitations -Speed of concorde combined with streaming scenery. IE, is the speed of the plane faster than scenery can be practically loaded in MSFS? These threads seem to always point out how MSFS is the future and devs are crazy to not invest in the future. But the limitations of MSFS are still very real. Unfortunately. Speed of Concorde with streaming scenery isn't an issue based on the latest update that provides supersonic flight capabilities including sonic boom and according to Asobo that component of the SDK is available to 3rd party dev's... Just google Sonic Boom MSFS and watch some of the videos with AC crossing the ground at 750kts. There is no issue from a streaming perspective with anything rendering that quickly it will still come down the individual user's system. FSL had said they couldn't bring the Concorde to MSFS due to the lack of support for true supersonic flight which has now been added so does that open the door, who knows, I don't think any of us can say definitively but we can certainly agree where the $$$ is right now and where the $$$ is the developers will follow if they are doing this as a business. Personally I'm still longing for a PMDG or FSL level 757 😞 while she isn't a classic "yet" being out of production and the age of some of the original 75's certainly could be argued as classics LOL... That is one AC I feel never got it's due justice in FS after LVL-D abandoned theirs. Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
